Anyone in S. Florida Interested in Playing with ECU Tunes?
I'm doing a bit of work with the MSD80/81 and am looking for people in the South Florida area (West Palm to Miami) interested in playing with tunes on their cars. Those with an interest on the technical side please PM me.
Thanks, Bill |

I have a flashing solution, yes. I do my tuning in WinOLS.
Anyone out there have a GT1? I am interested in how they work and if the ones from China are worth purchasing. |

the "price?" I assume is regarding the GT1 stuff from China. I see them listed on varrious sites for about $600 without the laptop and $900 with. I've used the Star Diagnostics stuff from China and it works reasonably well. I need to check with the dealer to see what they get for a proper BMW tool.
Also, I see that some of the piggy back units log data. Anyone out there have expereince with something that logs BMW proprietary data off the OBDii (things like boost control parameters, knock per cylinder and such)? BTW, thanks for the replies guys (and girls). |

Thanks...
I'll go looking for the BT cable. Bill Absolutely perfect... The only thing it does not list is reflashing and that is not needed. Thank You! Last edited by lolachampcar; 02-12-2010 at 06:10 AM.. |

I've seen the boost table(s) but am just starting the process of digesting the maps. If you have ever looked inside OEM calibration tables, you will know that there are hundreds of maps and multiple copies of different maps chosen by variant coding. It makes for a fun cross word puzzle.

Yes it is a big puzzle and complex retroengineering.
I am curious to understand how the DME works. If it has torque targets or boost targets. If it is possible to allow constant boost of 16PSI from 1.5Krpm To 6K and independent to IAT. OEM DME program decreases boost at low IAT to mantain torque constant, but maintaining boost constant we could obtain higher torque on low IATs (produced by methanol injection for example) |

A piggie (maybe procede V4) and even better a flash that holds constant the boost at the max safe value that the turbos can handle and tapers down for security only after 6K or 6.5Krmp would be GREAT! |

Testing
I've got the bench programming part of my project done and am working on logging and code reading/clearing. The next step is field testing.
Anyone interested in ECU flashing should PM me. I can provide hardware and access to maps for tuning in exchange for good quality testing and feedback. To reitterate, I am not a vendor, registered with the forum as a vendor and I AM NOT SELLING ANYTHING. My current goal is to complete the process and make sure it all works. Anything I provide is free of charge. |
