Please see attached. As I was flipping through the computer's service info, I came across this. The service/warranty book shows only 6 possible readouts. This one is not included.

That's your statutory vehicle inspection. Certain states, mostly East Coast require it. I'm surprised you don't know what that is being from Jersey..

Being in CA myself I just set it to the year 2030. By that time the car should be dead so I won't have to reset it again.

They say that light is for the annual state inspection. The manual shows the same thing. My light is different and it isn't in the manual.

I live in PA where we have emissions testing annually as part of the state vehicle inspection process. I believe that icon relates to an emissions testing. Perhaps there is a different icon to accommodate states with varying intervals of safety / emissions testing.

That is correct. A state/local safety inspection icon has the double S in front of the car. The OP's SS is at the rear, signifying a periodic emissions inspection.
