Invoice price vary between dealerships?
Hi guys, I am new to the E90 and planning on ordering one very soon. With that said, my question is, do the invoice price vary from dealership to dealership?
I am interested in ordering a 330i with: Sparkling Gtraphite Metallic w/ Terra Interior + Burl Walnut Wood 6-Speed Automatic w/ Steptronic Sport Package Premium Package On-Board Navigational System I come up with 41,095 as the invoice price, while the SA from the dealership is quoting me his cost at 41,823 and he will sell it to me $500 over cost. Thanks for the help in advance. |

Invoice price shouldn't vary from dealer to dealer.... walk in there with your price break down and ask to see his to figure out where you guys are different. He might be including something that you left out on your sheet.

like stressdoc said, most dealers will add a "regional marketing cost". It's most likely that; try and get them to eat that cost.

The invoice price I was given by my dealer was exactly what Edmunds.com had, so I doubt it varies anywhere.

You might want to check with this:
BMW's Confidential Wholesale Prices from bimmerfest http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/att...9&d=1122480781 For your reference, I paid wholesale price+$695 destination+$500 profit+$200 ad fees+$100 doc fee+TTL. Good Luck!

Thanks for all the replies and sorry about placing the post in the wrong section.
I just sent an email asking the Sales Client Advisor I am working with for the quote to see if he can send me a break down of the cost price he quoted me. I thought when you use Edmunds.com to configure the car, the destination charge of $695 is added at the bottom to the invoice price as well? Or are you guys referring to another delivery fee? As configured, I came up with 41,095 while the sales advisor gave me his cost of 41,823, a difference of $728. Even with MACO charges + misc., would it come out to $728? Hm, I guess I'll just wait for his reply tomorrow. Quoted from my email, "our price includes floormats, what else do I need to do to earn your business?" I guess this is where I insert the freebies I would like... |

Ok, he replied back with the following:
"If you come in I can show you how the costs break down. When you look at an online website such as Edmunds, they do not include floor mats, dealer prep, detail, and the training/ad fee which will vary by region." -- I want to reply that I wanted to seal a price and lease rate before actually coming in. I am thinking about halfing his $728 and counter offering 41960, so that would be $865 over invoice instead of the $1228 over edmunds's invoice price. |

FYI, when you are talking about invoice price (as in Edmunds or Bimmerfest pricing sheet), that figure is universally (in NA) standard...i.e. wholesale price plus BMW destination of $695. Any other fees, including MACO/Training fees are essentially add-ons.
Your CA is a bit off in quoting you an invoice pricing with those items built in. I understand that MACO/Ad fees are legitimate items (usually) but other items such as 'floor mats', 'dealer prep' and 'detail' should not be built into the invoice, ever. FYI, my dealer wanted $200 for ad fees and $100 processing fee which included the OEM floor mats, dealer prep and detail, paperwork and full tank of gas. These items are well priced.

Thanks for the reply KL2DC.
Another question is, once the CA and I have reach an agreement on price, do I have to come in and sign before they can order the car, or can I get them to order the car over the phone? The last few cars I've owned have been bought off the lot, so I am unfamiliar with the whole ordering process. Thanks. |

I only saw my CA in person when I finally took delivery of the car... In return, your CA should be able to furnish you with a production number within 1-2 days if not immediately. I'd insist on this ASAP to make sure everything was put in and not lying around somewhere. Good Luck!!
