Where Has The Thread Gone?
I noticed that the Alufelgen/DTM thread has been removed in the UK section, and closed in the 'Forum Vendors feedback' section.
I'm fairly certain Tony had no part in this decision as he is elsewhere and doubt it was Viv. I can only assume it was the American mods who did this, and would respectfully ask them for an explanation please, it smacks of unfair censorship |

Me too. There were a few replies from people who have had good service, however they seemed a little fake. Then it was gone.

I'm not too surprised. It's a bit like a commercial dispute in an American court between an American company and a foreign company. The American company always wins.
Strange, isn't it? |

For those of you that are interested, below is the last post allowed before all my threads were closed.
Anyone who read my original thread carefully, or was involved in the UK Group Buy, will have a chuckle, or be mad. Contains: Lies, (all of which I can prove with copies of e-mails etc), twisting of the truth, and above all no comment on: Quality of Packing, Who really shipped them, in other words the important points. Think I'm being very restrained, but have to have a little rant. Why do DTM, and most of the US posters have an obsession with the fact that they refunded me while I still had the wheels ??? My payment was worth $1400, their THREE scrap wheels, are worth nothing. Also had a PM from a man who has just been appointed an "Alufelgen Distributor", asking why my thread had been pulled, said he had three orders pending, seems he is a worried man !!!!!!!!!!! One last rant: I THOUGHT WE AND THE AMERICANS FOUGHT WW2, AND LOST MILLIONS OF MEN, FOR AMONGST OTHER THINGS FREEDOM OF SPEECH From DTM Rack: "Greetings to all, I want to go ahead and address the situation at hand. Merlin was sold a set of cS7's and the set was shipped to UK without any delays. When the packaged arrived he contacted us regarding the wheels. He was upset that the wheels were damaged and he himself acknowledged that Fedex had responsibility. I proceeded to offer him a replacement set but he refused and wanted a refund. At this point in time, he had already placed a dispute with paypal, before any conversations of the issue at hand had taken place. I asked him to please close the dispute (over the phone) and he did so, IN THAT SAME conversation I immediately refunded his money over paypal. Because of our procedures, I am obligated to use the fund from the bank accounts and not from paypal. This is why he says that the fund took some time to clear. At that point in time he had the wheels and the money in his property (and still does) Since he had trusted us by closing the claim, I felt no threat returning the courtesy by trusting him with the wheels. After we gave him the refund he asked if he could just keep the wheels and get them refurbished. He also demanded that we pay for the taxes of the pieces. We insured the wheels with Fedex. If Fedex approves the damaged claim (which he filed incorrectly) then they will provide him a receipt which he can use to get his money back for the taxes. If not, we will close that bridge when we come to it, just like we did when we REFUNDED HIS ORDER IN FULL. While I understand the frustration of getting a product damaged due to shipping, there is no reason to come down on us in this manner. Especially when a full refund has been given as soon as it was requested. We always watch out for our customers. We do as best as we can in OUR power to accommodate them. We have a great reputation regarding this. One that we have earned. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to Pm, email, or call us. We always respond. Cheers". |

I think it's a bit over the top to suggest that DTM have used commercial pressue to have this removed.
I understand why Merlin is not happy, it's annoying when things go wrong. However, it looks as if he has had a refund and he was offered quite reasonable 'compensation' in the form of a 50% discount off a replacement set. If the transaction was in dollars, I don't see why the vendor should be responsible for fluctuations in the exchange rate. I also think the 50% discount offer was a good one. If the vendor is prepared to sell these at cost, then they are making a loss overall on the transaction. As to the customs charges, I would suggest that Merlin formally rejects the wheels and advises DTMrack that they are available for immediate collection. I would imagine that this would be sufficient to ensure a refund / cancellation of any customs charges. What more would could DTMrack do? |
