There is no noticeable lag when going from the stock 5" to the 7", the difference is within 50-60rpms on paper and not noticeable while driving

I always recommend going with the largest intercooler that fits your requirements. Anyone going FBO will benefit from a 7", stock turbos, upgraded twins or single.
Cool, thank you may get the stepped 5 and sell the 7. Does the stepped 5 use the same hose comnections as 7?

Just installed my 7" FMIC from VRSF. Tiago replied very promptly when I had questions and I'm very happy after multiple pulls! Lowered IAT around -20 degrees and the pull in higher RPMs is noticeable and feels very strong!

Pics attached.

Heads up to those with Msport E92 N55, you have to do more than trimming the shroud for the 7" IC. The whole plastic piece has to be cut off and trim the side of the shroud that's connected to the left and right piece.

I have a Msport E92 and plan to pick up the 7 inch here pretty soon. Can you elaborate a little more on what else you had to trim? I don't really follow what you mean.

Only the black plastic shroud in front of the intercooler needs to be trimmed. The bumper or fan shroud should be untouched.

Just did the trimming needed for my 08 335i to accommodate the 7" FMIC. I got the upgraded lower charge pipes and have been looking for a solid guide to do the final needed steps to get this installed. Anybody have any recommendations for step by step guides? Did the google search, you tube etc and couldn't find a guide that mirrored my set up.

The lower chargepipe is pretty easy, just remove the driver side pipe, insert the lower chargepipe, tighten the clamps on the intercooler and chargepipe side. Nothing fancy

Thanks for the response sir! Are the couplers for the passenger side or for that lower charge pipe driver side? Or is that just the standard lower charge pipe, and since I got the ugpraded, it's not applicable?Apologies for the newb questions.

You use the straight coupler for the passenger side and the 90 degree coupler for the driver side. The lower chargepipe goes in between the 90 degree coupler and the upper chargepipe's coupler.

Everything sounds straight forward in respect to which couplers go where. My only confusion as for your response related to the lower charge pipe going in between larger charge pipe and 90 degree coupler.

Upper chargepipe to coupler, to lower chargepipe to coupler to intercooler
