if thats the case, i would take it back to the dealer that sold it to you and have them fix everything thats gone wrong with the car in the month you've had it. you shouldn't pay for anything either, they sold you a POS and they should make it right.

was it a BMW dealer you bought the car from?

Ruined me too. Got rid of it before tranny seals etc went. These are not isolated incidents . There are at least 5 things that are pretty much guaranteed to go wrong with these things.

Its at the BMW dealer right now until friday im getting the rear brakes replacement, along with switching out the turbos for new ones.

On monday im taking it to the dealer i bought it at which is the Mclaren/Fisker dealer, they already know im going and they said theyll see what they can do but, again this is a $2000 dollar repair that i doubt they will fix, but on the other hand if they dont make it right, there will be a lot of complaining and bad yelp reviews.

to you it's $2000, not to the dealer. have them fix it or lawyer up and have them buy back the car.

usually big dealers like that give some kind of warranty on used cars.

holy crap, how much is the oil filter housing?
I think mines leaking too but it cant be that hard to replace it its right there when you open hood. Gotta be easy to replace?

Maybe someone who has done it can say

Yeah even outside of CPO doesn't it have some type of warranty against major failure within a short period of time

Definitely will if they don't fix it, because honestly that is some shady shit, if the car if leaking fluid out of everywhere you dont sell the car you junk it

Unless you sell it. When you bought it, was it sold "as is", or was there an implied warranty?

Not that I wouldnt contact the dealer you bought it from but is this the part you are talking about?

If so the whole damn assembly is under $300 and probably take 30-45min to change yourself no problem.

Unfortunately as slightly expensive cars get cheaper, people will want to own a 50k car for 18k but you need to realize that repairs will still reflect that of a $50k car.

Sorry to hear but not knowing about a turbo high compression 6 with high mileage is a recipe for disaster.

The brakes are still fine, but they are under warranty until April, so I'm getting them replaced for free before the warranty runs out

I just traded away my first and only BMW that Iv owned, my 08 335i that Iv owned over for over 2 years and just way to many huge problems and it scared me away from BMW. Bought it with a year of New car warranty left and I was still under CPO and Maint till december, but Just did not want to own it out of warranty. Traded it away and bought a Lexus ISF with 4,800 miles on the clock. Feel better already not wondering what is going to break this month on my 335i. Sucks because I loved my 335i when it was on the road, and it was my first BMW that Iv owned. O well.

Oil filter housing gasket leak job should be no more than $500 at the most. Take a look at the stickie with all our NorCal shops and ask around the indy's.

agreed. especially if this is your FIRST bmw and you bought a used one with 75k miles already on it. i know horror stories about almost every brand out there if you factor in the fact that they all started off with a used car.

that said, too many people forget the parts/maintenance costs of owning a premium/luxury brand car. just cuz a used one can be had for $20k, doesnt mean itll cost the same to maintain as a new $20k car.

Wow I had an oil gasket leak at exactly 74,000, but on my 328i. I was charged about $400. When I first got the car at 69k miles, I had a good amount of problems with it: license plate lights didn't work, xenon cornering light failure, cup holder broken, oil gasket leak, wiper fluid leak. That's what we get for buying a used car. I now have 83,000 miles and I haven't had a single problem since. *knocks on wood*
