sbgorms, you should check out the Xede for your 335i, Shiv is proably going to at Dyno4mance in a couple of month. Would love to compare Evo with the xede vs 335i with the xede

Parachute, what's that say on your shirt in your avatar?

After using the search term 'Nashville' I came across an old post from you that mentioned Vanderbilt. Did you go there?

Sorry everyone else, simpler than PM'ing.

And something relative to this thread, Parachute, have you gone back to Cartronics for any other work? I read your thread about the aggravation they caused you. Did they end up paying for everything at the dealership?

lol, my shirt says "sorry I only date blondes"
I got my bachelor's at the New York Institute of Technology and planning to do an MBA at Vanderbilt in the fall.

cartronics took my car to the bmw dealership and the dealer took care of all the lights for free and gave me a loaner for 3 days. but it was definitely cartronics fault, they just got lucky

Overall, I've had an exceptional experience at BMW of Nashville. I've never, ever found a dealership I've liked before them.

Now I'm forced to keep buying BMW's. Oh well. Could be worse.

I drove by Inglehame Farms last week (is that where you said you live?), looking at houses. Didn't see your car, though; I should have been listening for the thumping base.

Should also mention that I need to get up to BMW Nashville soon and see Jeremy Skates. He sold me my E90, him and D.J. Matchen. But I have been told that D.J. no longer a salesman, some kind of manager now. Anyway, the wife's Lexus RX300 is getting old and looks like we are going to get one of the new X5's. Interested to test drive one. Hoping to do something here in about a month.

A Richmond Spider, very nice. My aunt still lives in Richmond and works at MCV. She is a respiratory therapist there. I have not been back in five years. But we moved away (to Tennessee) close to 13 years ago.

I'm thinking of getting new springs.

Any suggestions on a shop in or around Nashville? Dealer is very expensive, and they're just springs.

Guys, A friend of mine just opened an auto spa on Baker's Bridge across from the Merc dealership. I was there tonight for a private party and the place is pretty amazing. Car wash, full detail shop, garage flooring and cabinetry, BBS rims, a coffee bar called Octane, WiFi, fireplace, big screen tv, and kids play area.

The cool thing is, they open this weekend and he's donating 50% of their weekend revenues to the Minnie Pearl cancer foundation.

Check it out if you get a chance.

That's pretty cool, very convenient for me.

I have some reservations about an automatic car wash, however. I prefer the 'touchless' system, like at the Nashville BMW dealership and at Home Depot in Cool Springs. Even there, I worry about dirty water blasting at my car. I really prefer to wash my car myself, doing my best to avoid swirls.

I will definately bring my wife's car to the new Baker's Bridge Rd. car spa, though. She needs some new wax, and I don't have the time.

Are you familiar with the owner's background? Does he have detail experience? Is it a franchise?

I don't generally like automatic washes either (Smith Bros. put such bad scratches down the side of my wife's X5 that I bought a PC to buff them out), but Miles is brand new and state of the art. I actually had my E90 washed today at lunch and it looks GREAT.

Miles (the owner) is a very good friend and BMW enthusiast (he currently drives an E46 M3 Convertible in Carbon Black with BBS RS-GT 19" wheels, Dinan exhaust, cold air intake and engine chip). He won't be doing the detailing personally, but I went through their detail bay and they've got all the right stuff. PCs, all the pads, several grades of quality polishes and waxes, enough microfibre to dry up Percy Priest Lake, etc... And I know he hired the best people. The only missing ingredient (at least I didn't see it) was a good sealant.

His vision is to make 'Miles' an experience, and a bad detail simply won't be tolerated.

Welcome, umcool911ok. Bet you can't wait for that birthday. :rocks:

Where do you go to school?

Generally, each dealership farms out the tinting to a single, local installer. Nashville BMW doesn't do tinting, but they will have someone come to the dealership to do it or they will send you to a specific installer. I don't know who they recommend this week.

Just had Pinnacle F1 ceramic installed last week, at Solar Insulation and Tinting, just off Charlotte Pike. I haven't washed my car yet to see what kind of job they did, but I bet they'll be replacing a couple sheets of the tint. I see a tiny imperfection on the driver's rear window.
