Did some customizing today

About 10 months ago I hit a rabbit, which put a good crack in my bumper and completely demolished my passenger side fog light. Since then, I have replaced the bumper cover but never got around to doing the fog lights.

Well, today that changed. Finally went to the dealer to get anew wiring harness, problem was it was the entire thing (went to both fog lights up towards the ECU and cost over $300). F that noise. So I got the socket, along with some connector wire, and did some customizing.

As you can see from the first picture, it is completely shot. I cut it off, stripped it, attached a wire connector, crimped, attached the new wire, crimped, and electric taped the living shit out of it, along with putting some plastic tubing around it.

Turned out great and works great! Now that little "!" on my dashboard has disappeared

I did the same for my E36 for my outside temp sensor. I pulled it out to hard and had to splice some wires to make it work. Good work.

It's likely too late, but those crimp connectors are shit. Remove them and solder and heat shrink. Especially something like this that is outside the car.
