Rattle/Creak/Popping Noise Making Right Turn?
I did some searching, but couldn't find the exact situation I'm having. When making a slow right turn or just turning the steering wheel to the right while not moving, there is a popping noise coming from somewhere in the suspension.
I feel like it could be anything from the strut twisting a little, links, sway bar bushing, or control arm (worst case scenario), but am trying to narrow it down. Is there a known TSB out for such an issue? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Popping is likely the front swaybar endlink joint has failed. It's a click/pop sound and you can check for it by just rocking the endlink with your hand to see if the joint makes the click/pop.
It's a good first check at least. |

Do you have upgraded suspension? If so, check the front sway bar where it connects to the front shocks......Or check the front strut itself, take it apart and see if the washers are installed correctly.....That's only if you have upgraded suspensions.

CV joint maybe? You've got an xi so that could be a possibility.

I'm not sure how you can tighten it from 'both' sides? I thought you just use a wrench to hold the head of the bolt, and use another to tighten the nut? Please explain, as this may well be my issue too..... TIA
