Do stage 1 maps have any changes over the beta-testers version?

You mention more power at 5500-6000 for stgs 2&3 only.

Shiv
So with the new maps and firmware, there will also be a new user software too, or they'll work on the current 3.121 version? I'm not clear.

Hey guys,
Just to clarify, the private (email only) beta maps that I've been emailing around for the last couple of weeks actually ran less peak boost (which occurred at 5500-6000rpm) than previous maps (7-29 and earlier). This was the case in all stages.

With the public (posted on the forum) beta maps, we brought boost targets back to where they have been for the past several months in Stg 2 and 3. Stg 1 still has the slightly reduced peak boost.

So no, we did not raise boost with the new maps. We actually dropped them during trial testing and then brought them back up to normal

And yes, even at lower boost pressures, the private beta maps were quicker than any previous map. The public beta maps should be even more so. And even more so once we release the 6MT throttle lag fix!

I thought that meant you put them on the vishnu forum. No luck so far. Eagerly awaiting. Forget the President healthcare speech tonight, I want maps.

What were the reasons for reducing peak boosts in Stg 1?

Just to make the base tune more conservative in terms of boost pressure. We found that dropping peak boost level but greatly improving boost/throttle response made the car ultimately quicker. Customers can always make it more aggressive if they choose through the User Adjustable menu and CANbus logging. But the baseline is pretty darn good.

That seems to parallel my experience on Stage 1......pushing UT beyond 75% seemed to make the car less lively.

Didn't even have to datalog it - it was that obvious.

I take this back.....just switched from the private beta maps to the ones released today and ran stage 1 UT=80%.

Could definitely feel more power from the extra boost this time around!

Funny because with the private maps, the car felt slower beyond 75% UT.

Nonetheless....I am happy on Stage 1.

I got the impression that the catalytics were the bottleneck for higher stages esp at higher rpms when there is more exhaust flow.

Rev 1 user here. Loaded the new maps last night and these are definitely quicker and more responsive than the 7-29 maps. Feels good!

what is it that you are doing so differently now that allows you to comfortably run more boost into redline on the automatics without fear of damaging the transmission during upshifts?

Timing the drop in boost with actual throttle which can now be read via canbus. Nearly invisible now that it's timed right. Rev 1 guys don't have CANbus so it may be a little more pronounced for them.
