For starters the HR Touring Kit is made up of the Sport spring and a matched damper!

Coming from sport suspension i initially just installed the sport kit and used the stock dampers back in march '10 about 48k miles.

Recently the ride started to bug me especially in the front. Specifically, the violent up and down when you hit a dip in the road. The stock dampers just didnt have enough force to control this.

Installed touring yesterday and its a world of difference. speed bumps are not a big deal, dips in the road are well absorbed, suspension does not squat or dive as much under boost either!!

I regret not doing this the first time around saving myself the pain of ripping everything out all over again. I like this better than the g35 tein comfort sport coilovers ive had in the past because the dampers and the ride height are all set perfectly nothing to worry about if even on all corners.

Also the adjusting the rear dampening on a 335i requires pulling the carpet out to gain access to the top of the rear struts. Its a pain to get back in around the tie downs, i wouldnt want to do it again everytime i need to adjust. non adj is the way to go unless you have a coilover that can be remotely adjustable like tein's edfc.

Attached are some pics for a comparison of the shorter dampers. Noticed the front stock one didnt come out all the way, maybe it was worn. car now has 54k miles.
All in all very satisfied with this kit, and i recommend it if you have the funds! stance is tucking tires in the rear 265/30, it will rub on a big dip in the road with passengers, 225/35 front slight stretch (you can see both metal lips in the pic), no rubbing ever.

i just had mine installed over the weekend and so far so good as well. ride height is perfect and the comfort and quality has been very good. one of my reservations for not going with a full on coilover set up was that i wanted to lower the stance slightly without compromising comfort.

my comments are very similar to OP along with everyone else who has had this set up installed.

Eibach does not offer a spring/shock combo directly but their Pro Kit Springs are packaged with the Koni FSD Shocks. This is a less performance oriented setup so it will ride softer and not drop the car as much. It is a bit more than the H&R Cup Kit but if you want something less harsh, then it is a great option.

they do indeed, its called the pro system or sport system or the pro and sport system plus that comes with springs dampers and sway bars. you can also just buy the dampers separately they are called the eibach pro dampers and their made by sachs which has been o.e. on bmw for many many years.

Hmm it's weird most of the time I see H&R sport drops the drop looks good but sometimes it seems lower than other H&R sport drops I have seen. Maybe it might be the angle of the pic..Looks good though OP

I did the install last week, but my car is a 135i. Like others, I didn’t want the mess with damper adjustments. Truly depends how aggressive you want to ride is how stiff you want them and not all the time is race time. So the matching dampers and springs sold me.

Well, as for performance stand point I feel a bit confused. They feel close to stock until you tackle a corner like a mad man. Then they hold their ground quite great. Not too stiff not too soft, just right to make the tire grip better and don’t brake traction.

But on the other hand, I could not really put them to test due to rubbing. Also today I went to lunch with 2 coworkers and the rub was annoying as hell. Also I felt some floatyness on the back at certain speed over a deep dip. But due the rubbing I could not really verify my feelings. Also I have not driven the car in close to 3 months. Just to install the new wheels and then it stay a month in the garage until the Cup Kit install.

The Drop is sick. Perfect!! Handling needs to be tested after rolling my rear fenders.

BTW, I raced today on my way home a 3000GT VR4. It was moded, don’t know how much but I could hear him spooling even my windows were up. Also he had a BOV, and the car looked really sharp. He thought he was going to pull me easy but didn’t happened. Was a close race, but the only thing I have installed as of today is an AMS FMIC and AA Charge pipe. My other performance mods will be installed after sorting out the suspension rubbing. Anyway what I wanted to share; we were in a corner around 100mph and let the gas off (natural reaction) but the guy was next to me so I got back on the throttle and to my surprise the damn car was cornering like a freaking train. I mean not hard/stiff suspension interaction expecting to break tire traction but a fluid/progressive movement. I felt so confident that I went all the way with the throttle and the car held like a champ!!! The VR4 had to let go on the turn while the 135i went like a bat outa hell!!! LOL I really was impressed.

its 225/25 front and 265/30 rear. 9" 10" rims.
find my other posts for the sidewalls i cant remember exact, but i think thats what it is.
I love the mild stretch in front.
Next time prob go 255 next time outback, it rubs when there is a huge dip and ppl in the back, but we are tuckin tires almost rims at that point looks sick when there is extra weight back there.

Just picked up a cls with airmatic, nothing rides this smooth, adjustable height, its bliss!

I've been debating tire size myself. 225 35 19 and 255 30 19 are actually closer to stock, percentage-wise I mean... Wow, those fat lips look sick!

Yep when i replaced the tires ive been running 225 255 on both cars for 7yrs or so. E90 and e93.

Great setup. Although the ST aka kWv1 setup i run on the e93 is actually much smoother and absorbs expansion joints better.
