Question Good Tuner/Install shops in NJ

So this is the first German car I've bought (always had imports) and I was wondering if anyone knew any good tuner/install shops in the NJ area

Suspension... Still undecided between KW V2s and PSS9s but either way I'll need a place that'll do a good job with the install.

If I recall, you're in Jersey City right? I'm planning on getting the KW V2 and having a BMW mechanic install it for me. He does work on the side on weekends.

I'm just waiting on a good price for them. I've been shopping around and waiting on a few vendors for them to reply to my PM's. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a good price within a month.

Actually, its not that hard since your putting in full coilovers. You dont need a spring compressor or anything, its a simple remove-n-replace. I could do it for you if you need.

Don't you need an alignment or anything after the install? If it's that simple, I might need your help too! I'll pay you with food. lol!

Well yeah, but I wouldnt trust an alignment to anyone but the dealership. They have all the specs the car should fit into.

Thanks! Will BMW do the alignment with aftermarket coilovers? If so, I'll just have you install them and have the guy at BMW do the alignment. Must be cheaper that way.

I want to do the sways too, but I heard they are a PITA. I don't even think you can do it, right Alex?

Dont see why they wouldnt. They did the alignment on my M3 when I changed the suspension.

You have to drop the rear diff and subframe to get to them. Its sucha PITA that Ive chosen to skip over this mod for myself. I got a quote of $500 in labor from the dealership just for this. Wasnt worth it for me and the car handles fine as it is.

bimmer's got lunch, i got dinner

Thanks hyper, i may take you up on that offer...
It wont be til late winter or early spring 2008 though...
Im planning on getting wheels and coils at the same time, in order to run a proper alignment with the new wheels and ride height.

dont see the sense in lowering the car and getting new wheels before winter and the inevitable rim cracking potholes

hyper do you have a lift in your home ... I keep reading how you do all your own mods, i couldnt even imagine doing suspension work on stands.

Yeah, I wish I had a lift. That will definitely be in my garage when I move into a house. That and a wash bay. Until then Ive learned to work with ramps and jackstands. One would think I didnt really have claustrophobia.

Eric at Helix does an excellent job of installing and setting up coilover systems. he can also get you H&R as well as Bilstein coilovers for a very good price. I have the H&R setup on my car and it rides and handles great.
