I actually worked hard to buy my BMW... Actually my wife helped out a little bit too. But my parents didn't by my BMW. When I was a kid I had to walk to school up hill BOTH ways in 12 feet of snow... All year long.... In Florida.

Ok well, not really. But I had to ride the bus to school as I was growing up and when I did get a car it was a Toyota.

I'm 29 and I had to wait til after my wife and I bought a house, that I had the funds to get a BMW.

My first car cost $5 and it was a 1960 plymouth valiant..and I paid the entire $5 myself. My second car was free..someone gave it to me..project car..not running..no first gear. My third car...at 17...my dad bought me a cherry 1967 MGB GT with special american mags with knockoffs..it was very special. That car cost $1700 used.

Definitely no handouts from anybody, anytime. I worked my ass off for this (well... still am working my azz off for it), which makes it even more special of a car.

... and plenty more that had certain advantages to allow their "hard work" to afford them a BMW. Really I think we're all pretty fortunate, I don't know why people hate on others who had their cars paid for by someone else. Or why it seems to be discussed endlessly on this board lately.

In any case, I sure as hell wouldn't turn down a free bimmer! Good for anyone who has got one.

Its really not that bad on here vs. what I've seen on other forums.

Typically the people that bitch about it the most are people who don't have much money and simply can't stomach the idea of a kid in a new/nice car.

Since everyone here has a newish BMW, I'm thinking no one is "struggling to get by," so they're less bothered by it.

You can kinda tell who pays for their own cars because they are still forking out the cash for all these crazy mods here from time to time. If you have a new 335 and can't get a set of lights for example, there is something wrong.
