When dropping the roof there appears to be quite a loud clunk which sounds like its coming from the rear windows, I'm guessing this isn't normal?

After the clunk the roof folds fine.

The windows don't make the same noise when used independently.

Aldo do you guys perform any self routine maintenance on the roof mechanism?

Thanks in advance guys!

I'm pretty sure it's the roof mechanism unlocking from the body rather than the windows. Try dropping the windows 1st then pulling the roof switch to see if the same noise is there.

I've only had my car for a month so I'm no expert.

I have bought some lithium grease for the mechanism and I've got some stuff to feed the seals.

There is a maintenance guide on here somewhere, I will try and find a link for you when im on a pc later.

Perfect cheers.
And I'll try as you suggested and drop the windows slightly first before pulling the roof switch...

Here we go. Took some finding as it isn't on this site.

The 1st bit covers the seals then if you down its about lubricating the mechanism.

The clonk sound is normal, mine and my friends E93 both do it. I believe it's just the boot mechanism unlocking as it levers up in the opposite direction to normal.
