18'' or 17'' winter tire set up?

Getting ready to order my winter set up tomorrow from Tirerack.

Before I do, I'm wondering what everyone thinks about a 18'' set up? I prefer the 18'' selection of alloy's on tirerack compared to the 17''.

I'm definately going with RFT. For 18'' selection they only have the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D (Performance Winter). Anyone have any experience with these tires?? For 17'', I'd go with the blizzacks RFT.

Since the 18'' are a bigger tire, will I have a harder time driving in the winter then if I got with the 17'' set up??

Anyone have any experience driving with an 18'' winter set up??

Most are minus sizing to 17", but 18" will work okay as well with 225/40R18. Keep in mind that there are currently no RFT winter tires available in 225/40R18 so you'll need to go 17" if you only want RFT.

The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D are not runflat tires? It shows they will be instock next month when I use the 18'' winter tire package. Please advise.

Thanks

Let me know if you are looking at getting 18s for your winter set up.

I have been selling a lot of 18" M6 18x8 reps to customers on the east coast, for their winter set ups lately.
