edspilot....still in for the 2-day school in SC I believe shimshimhada is still in on it as well. We talked about possible mid-year?

335i is still some time to go. My trusty 325i should carry me at least for another year. New mods coming in should keep me satisfied until I get to trade up, maybe next year

I would like to solicit this fine group SA referrals for an upcoming 1st scheduled oil change and small list of warranty repairs....

Anyone? Arlington? VOB? Sterling?

Donny if you are seriously up to the task, Pick and nail in a Month, so maybe Dean can move his back. I can easily accomodate any date.

I really like going to the PDC instead of trashing my own car a Summit this year.

Dean! whats up!

I'm up for SC - I looked at Dean's dates, but was too late. I'll set aside some of my refund for this.

I just spent some dough at Passport's service. In six hours, they installed my iPod Adapter, bluetooth adapter, and initial oil change in 6 hours. Peter was able to get me a loaner so I could go home and get moved in. No scratches, asked prior to washing, and was a great experience. For now, they will get my next business.

Driving School

Guys, Do not go by the web site about seeing if the class is full. To be sure you must call. I checked online and the class was full. However, I called to be sure and the web was giving bad info, they had space. So call to be sure.

I'm sorry I can not move my date. I have another committment in the area.

I'll do a report when I return.

Also, it works for me as I have a 06 330i and that is still what they are using until later this spring when they switch to the 335i. You all may want to check to see when they plan to switch and go accordingly, if that makes a difference for you.

Dean

I'll add my two cents worth. I've had a good experience with Tischer. The service manager, Scott Oliver, is a good guy and committed to customer service. Their alignment tech, Gus, went above and beyond to help me out.

I bought my car from Passport and have an appointment with their service department next week. I'll report back on my experience.

Just a short report...

I had a wonderful Service experience with VOB BMW (Gint / Yellow Team). He is an upfront guy and very pleasant to work with, not to mention very knowledgeable. Will do (service) business with them again.

No BMW loaners, but he did give me an Enterprise rental (I'm sporting a Solara ) which is alright with me. The service department/parts area is more presentable than Passport's, they have a seperate location from their sales operation.

I was just thinking of where to put this Kudos for the service yesterday I had on my cabrio, Im very pleased with Tony Medeiros Passport Red Team.

the cab was overdue for this early Maint I inspection at 23k, been driving it with the light since its Out-of-Maintenance Free warranty. Ive really did my homework on this one since the valve adjustment is needed of its inspection I, and being out of pocket expense.

Its quite unbelievable experience the disparity of service prices and what dealers do, its just freaking unbelievable. Prices from $300, non-dealer no-valve adj work, to a staggering $1900 at Tishers BMW

Well, finally I tried to call Passport and my call landed on Tony desk, he was upfront with the $750 cost, which he reassured covers valve adjustment. He was so nice and flexible when I ask if the oil and airfilter can be skipped since i just did it, he said no problem I'll give you credit for those jobs ($130)

wow! yesterday when I drop the car, Passport gave me a loaner, and Enterprise has 8 new 328i to rent out. First to drive this bimmer rentacars.

The car was clean and ready when it was promise, he returns call promptly and even fix/replaced the Mass Air Sensor that causes me to get a chk engine light under warranty, and a emission recall and did a coolant flush in leui of the credits($130) as I have requested.

I found my SA too Donny! and Tony Medeiros CA Passport Red Team will do both my cars from here on.

Tony Medeiros 301-702-6459 Passport Red Team!

Great Ase, who was your SA before, on your E90? And can you choose your SAs, as mentioned I am not seeing eye to eye on my assigned SA at Passport, he treats me like an idiot, can you believe I had to argue with him for a few minutes when I called in to make an appointment for my first scheduled stop? He kept on going on how sure I was that it wasn't a mere low oil warning He also had an almost standard line, "They all do that..." and "its not uncommon" to almost every issue I've brought up. I wanted to have a full relationship with Passport but my experience with that SA turned me off...

unfortunately, Donny my e90 got his first service at Arlington, cant recall the SA, he was so/so... maybe thats the reason he no longer works there... plus a lot of SA staff are new at the Pentagon Branch.. so Id stay away from them for a awhile.

... Sterling SA I had for the e90 Steering-lock Issue I had was also so-so, Ben Neubert, never returns my calls, seems always busy. I nver did get the problem fix for it nevers appears anymore, so why fix somethng that not broken

call Tony and see if you guys can talk eye to eye next time

I've had Peter (Blue team) at Passport both times... and so far okay. I'll call it B+ (rating against the MINI guy in VaBeach that got a straight A).

Ase, I think we had service on the same day. I had a "wait" morning while the did the tire rotation....

I was really only there for about a hour, if that. Good for reading the paper and drinking coffee.

Then again, when they had the car all day for the iPod and bluetooth install, I had a black 328. Not my 335 by any stretch, but as good or better than a MINI, which was surprising.

Ase... You thought the 328 was certainly faster than the 325??? I actually never drove the 328 before buying the coupe. I figured it would be almost identical to my 325, and certainly nowhere near the 335...

Interesting. When I was considering where to buy my e90, I looked at a number of websites that cover service and VOB had gotten terrible reports from almost all of the people posting. Now I know such posters may be a self-selected population (like us!) and not truly representative of the service universe, but I was put off by these websites and decided to buy from Passport.

I live very close to VOB and will consider Gint/Yellow Team for service next time, given your report.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah I know, VOB has so-so image, that's why I was wary but I'm relieved to note that it worked out. Just tell Gint, Donny (with the SG 325i) refered you for best service

Doug, Peter B is my assigned SA at Passport ... Glad things worked out for you though. There was no chemistry for me.

I guess finding that right SA is a bit like match making. You want to have a relationship and the chemistry must be just right. What works for one person may not work for another

Ase, you should've told me you had a 328i loaner...so I could've come down and swap out some parts, like tires and radio knobs to start

I have had great experience at BMW of Sterling. Its the reason why I bought my second E9x from them. I had a few problems with my E90, and they fixed it with no questions asked.

My SA is Jim Eddy, and would recommend him to anyone who is close to the Sterling area...

I just had my 328 serviced at Passport (my selling dealer) and Peter was my SA. I'd give him an A.

I had Passport do a post break-in oil change ($109--ouch!), look at my alternator to see if if was covered by a replacement campaign, and fix my very special vibrating passenger seat problem, about which I posted elsewhere on this site. Turns out my alternator was the correct one and the tech could not find any problem with my seat. I hope it never returns or, at least, I can install a coin slot and charge people for a massage.

I give Peter an "A" because he was polite, knowledgeable, and reported with authority exactly what the techs did when they serviced my car.

I don't usually take a loaner. Passport's shuttle to and from the Branch Ave. Metro was handy. Tischer's was less so when I had service there.

I've very interested to hear about everyone's experience with independent service shops. I've read the NCC page about this, but I'd like to hear from you guys, as well.
