What does the spark plug service include?

Quoted £227 inc VAT by dealer for a spark plug change on an e92 n52.
Wondering if that would include anything else?

Last year had an Oil service done for £219 which included a microfilter change and air filter change - all electrics etc. checked too.

Pricing seems misleading on the website. All the value deals apply to the E46 according to my dealership and there are no special deals on the E9X as yet.

Thanks

I don't know about the UK but in the US that service involves changing your spark plugs and then bending you over and raping your wallet. You are better of doing it yourself, it is very easy to do on a N52 motor. When I had a 328 I was able to do it in under 30min.

£227 !!! Wow I think I paid about £50 odd for a set of 6 Bosch plugs from euro car parts and then fitted them myself with my eyes closed as its such an easy job.

Takes a little nerve pulling the coils,
But as the post above said, easiest diy there is provided you get the correct plug socket and take care removing the coils.

I did that and on seeing the pool of oil to quickly changed the plugs, popped back the coils and let the dealer do the oil gasket under warranty. Worth a peak annually for that reason as if left the oil rots the bottom of the coil increasing the cost accordingly.

Mine were changed for < £200 in Dec, also an N52...no extras except the usual valet. Now they want £114 just to change the Microfilter!!!

Edit: another local dealer is offering Microfilter service incl. 'standard scope' for £69, and they're only 30mins further away.

They are usually good on negotiation if I twist their arm far enough but it still seems way too pricey. Will see how it goes... they are due in 1400 miles which will come up soon... right now... the priority is new front wheels and 4 wheel tracking.

That sounds pretty pricey, but then again the plugs are usually around £15 each from BMW and it'll be around an hour's labour as it takes a bit of dismantling to get the engine cover off and give access to the rear plugs.

I got an absolute bargain the other week on eBay though..6x genuine BMW spark plugs for my 335i for £30 Bought the spark plug tool for another £4, so it worked out being a dirt cheap job!

Ok had a slight memory fail as it was £5.97 inc P&P, but it was this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1106772957...84.m1439.l2648

Seemed like good quality and grips onto the plug to make it easy to remove and reinstall.
