TPM Malfunction

Yesterday, driving home, a TPM Malfunction warning came up on my i-Drive. I was under the impression that if I popped a RFT, I would be able to see which one it was by viewing the vehicle info on the screen. However, rather than having the green illumination behind each tire on the screen, all four tires were greyed out.

The TPM Malfunction warning went away after I parked and started the car about an hour later.

Should this be something to worry about?

Thanks

You state that it was a malfunction of the TPMS.

Maybe if the TPMS was indicating low pressure, it may display the tire in concern on the iDrive monitor.

Sorry. I didnt explain that too clearly. I went into the iDrive monitor and it did not specify a particular tire. It simply showed "TPM Malfunction."

Sounds like TPM had an issue. Perhaps software, or just a communication issue that resolved itself after you turned the car off and it reset itself.

I have had that happen before. I checked the pressure in all 4 tires and reset the TPM through the iDrive and everything was good to go.

Did you install anything aftermarket before this came up?

No the car is bone stock. The day after I purchased the vehicle I received a low pressure warning on all four tires. Went back to the dealership and they checked all four tires, added air, and reset the warning.

Just a little concerned since I've only had the car for a month and a half and already had two issues with tire pressure.
