N54 drive belt

Had some issues lately with the drive belt failing causing lots of damage,
it all starts with the oil filter housing leaking oil, this leaks onto the alternator and then the belt the end result is a broken belt.

But its what happens when the bits of belt get court around the crank pulley, it destroys the crank seal and can damage the alternator and the thermo fan.

Best to do this preventive maintenance when you do the oil filter housing oil leak. You should do the drive belt and the idler bearings at the same time, or as they say pay the price
