Wow. Maybe more 17k than 18k then for yours then Jon? Adding about 1k for the lower mileage and same again for CIC nav compared to Nick's example.

Hmmmm...

No way would I be letting it go for £17k. I'd sooner vt and pay the mileage.

Used cars prices are on their arse

Agreed... Good if you want to buy. not so good if you want to sell.

Cant be bothered with the hassle of selling it now, going to vt and let bmw deal with it. My hand back is March without penalty, i thought it was December. Have to make a small payment for excess mileage and thats it.

Has anybody VT'd a car before and had any issues with BMW finance later?

VT not the best option, it must count against you even unofficially and especially if you then find yourself sometime needing to VT for some reason, twice on the records wouldn't look good.

Allegedly it doesn't affect your credit rating. Just ask BMW for the outstanding figure to voluntary terminate the agreement under the halves and thirds.

I believe you can request this directly from the BMW finance website: Don't even need to ring anyone.

I did this when I was looking to shift mine but managed to go for private sale in the end.

The risk is they charge you for car condition if they don't feel it matches age of vehicle etc. In my case due to the mods it would've been very difficult to completely return the car to stock and I'd have definitely been stung for something or other. From the pics and things you've said I doubt this is a concern so in your case it'd just be the excess.

ps; just to be sure: Sign up for the 640d before VTing the 335d. No problem then.
