Trickle Charger
I have had a flat ish battery today, dropped from 13v to 11v and as a result the car would not start. It had been stood for a month.
I have charged it up and it's all OK but can anyone recommend a trickle charger. Thanks |

I've always used an Accumate optimate. If the car's cigarette lighter is live when ignition is off, get the adaptor to plug in - makes it even more convenient.

I bought this one: MULTI XS 3600 when I had my CSL. I only used to drive it on weekends and that was is if it was dry, my CSL never came out in the rain.
Come to think of it I've probably still got mine, it must in the garage somewhere.

Thanks Amar, that's the one I looked at as the best option. I have seen them at 40 pounds.

Most 3 series batteries are around the 90 a/hour the xs3600 is below that rating and will not fully charge but it will trickle it. The xs7000 is able but is nearly twice the price.

The charger is for my slk 55 so I guess the rating needs to be even higher, I don't need it to fully charge the battery just to keep it topped up when it's sat for weeks at a time in the garage.
