BMW E90 DME MSD 81.2 replace
I bricked DME - MSD 81.2 in E90 LCI 2009 2.0 petrol. The problem is I cannot communicate with it any more, it is not completely bricked as I still can read its VIN, part number and date of production in DIS.
I got another ECU today, tried to swap it but no luck - no start, is there IMMO that has to be programmed or something else? |

you can't swap DMEs. you need a blank DME (only can be bought new), or to somehow recover yours. The ISN is stored in the DME and has to be matched to your car, and it cannot be extracted from MSD8x or MSV8x.
if it still communicates, I think it could be recovered. I'd see if I could find a local DME expert who knows BMWs. |
