Lowering Springs with Stock Absorber

I am planning to lower my E90 with H&R lowering springs.

However i read some posts that this is not a good option, as it will damage your stock absorber real fast.

Is it true? Please advice ... Thanks

There's some on the forums who just changed out their springs, but it's not recommended to do it. In my opinion it's better to do it right the first time so if you want to lower your car, go coilovers or a combo of springs and shocks of your likings.

You should do some searching on this site but I'll give you a freebie. If you are putting H&R lowering springs on your car, do yourself a favor and at the same time change your shocks and struts to Koni Yellow Sports and save yourself the double labor rates of doing it later, probably within a year.

Yes, doing just the springs will kill your stock shocks fairly quickly. The Koni Yellow Sports pair well with the H&R Race springs. A few vendors even sell them together as a Cup Kit. So I would second the other posters in saying either both shocks & springs (cup kits) or coilovers.

just save yourself the money in the long run and buy coilovers. If your set on springs, then make sure you buy shocks/struts also.
