Alternator covered with certified warranty?
Hey guys,
I've finally picked up a 07 328xi , got it off a private seller, vehicle was in great condition and has warranty till August. One issue, when I start it in the morning, I hear bunch of ticks before the engine kicks in. I'm told it could be the alternator. If it is, is that covered within the certified warranty? I called the dealer and was told to leave the car over night so they can see the cold start. It might be the battery, are batteries covered in the cpo warranty? Also is there any way I could take advantage of the car being a CPO for the next few months? The service advisor said they can't do a ppi type inspection and do the work thats needed, I need to come in with a problem. |

Its sounds more like a starter issue. If it would be alternator or your battery your car would not start even after a few tries. Check starter first.

My guess is that its the battery or starter. The starter will usually tick when there isn't enough power to start the car.
You can go to an indy to check your battery. I say get your battery checked first otherwise it will cost you more at the dealer. If the battery is original, it is probably due for replacement. |
