Installed BMW Performance brakes
Just to let you know that I've had the BMW Performance brake set installed yesterday on my 335d coupé.
They're exactly like on http://accessories.bmw.com/internet_...st=true&nav=15 BUT my dealer only installed the front disks & callipers - the rear set is smaller than my originals and probably mentioned for the 1-series. Also, the complete front and rear set only has the front callipers painted yellow, the rear ones are still grey. And about the performance... I noticed no difference the first 150km (as they told me) but then ... there is still no difference when you brake soft. Only when you really push it, it bites , where before I never felt the same performance. |

This makes sense since this was put on the 335d.
I don't think they fit the 335i.

I don't know if the 335d brakes are different than the 335i.

anyone know the measurements for the bmw performance brakes for the e92 335.
i think the stock brakes are front 348mm and 322mm rear. Im currently considering brembos which are front 355mm and 345mm rear but the now thinking about the bmw perf brakes given they good and are cheaper.... |

i would never buy a set with only front's painted.. a reliable source told me they are comming out with 13.75-14 inch drilled and slotted rotors with 6 piston front 4 rear and yellow calipers all the way around not just the front.. he advised that i do not get the ones for the 1 series as bmw is making a complete set for the 3 series focusing on the 335.. and i would only get brembo's if i was tracking the car.. no sense in spending 6-8k on brakes for the road.. it's pointless to me.. i would rather take that 7k add it to the 62k for my car and get a used 2005 911 turbo with extended warranty.. to me brembo's are awesome i have driven a car with and without them.. same model same trans and i have to say the difference was definitely noticeable.. but again only when they were really heated up.. and for the road that's a lot of money.. on a track i could see them saving major time.. allowing one to brake much later into corners.. but for the road i just want a small bump in performance and nicer calipers/rotors, for the 2k bmw is supposed to be charging for the complete set for the 335 i think it would behoove us to just be a lil more patient.

6 piston front and 4 piston rear and they fit over the stock rotors. Here's a pic of the Rotoras with my old wheels.

I've only heard them when I braked that one time when I went from 120 mph to 0 mph in about 3.5 seconds. I'm upgrading the pads though to the EBC yellow stuff so they might be louder. I've heard really good things with the yellow stuff, so maybe I'll make the 120 to 0 in 2.5 seconds.

Here's the way I think about it.
The 335 already has huge brakes. Let's take advantage of the big rotors that we have instead of paying a lot of money to go any bigger. The best thing about these Rotoras also is that I can still throw on stock 17" wheels for when I go tracking. Yes, they even fit over the fronts. I don't need to worry about winter wheels but they would be great for the 17" wheel winter setup.

Calipers in the front are about 1600 and the rear is 1200.
