Not bad, but I think carbon fiber would look better.

What's with this forum and using the "rice" adjective?

Their fucking gauges! They tell you what you car is doing, if that's rice, there's something wrong with you people..

They're not my style, but gauges are never rice. Unless they are for looks only, that's rice, that's the only definition of rice. Any functional gauges are useful, especially with a turbo car.

Fuckin grow up!

I think this forum needs a refresher course on what rice is.

Anything that's Japanese is rice seems to be the foundation for the word. Exhaust on a Civic is rice, but exhaust on a BMW isn't? Boost/AFR gauges are rice?

Rice = non functional mod done purely for looks.

example: boost gauge on NA car, huge wing on FWD car etc.

wow didn't realize people on this forum wouldn't be so open to ideas. rice o roni? guage in pillar is pure rice. guages in center console eh i guess that has been the only solution to guages so nothing to say there. having guages ontop of the column i don't think is rice. gives the driver a new type of feel behind the wheel seeing the needles go up and numbers spike. buy hey that just my .02.

mickey mouse guages like hpf? hpf has made an amazing turbo kit for m3. proven both reliable and safe being one of the only turbo solutions out there for m3 other then the aa and maybe d/a.

i think the setup is perfect. right in front of drivers view, doesn't block anything, and can be turned on and off whenever. it does not give a ricey feel compared to a b pillar and is very simple to install (plug n play).

but hey to each their own. anybody else interested?
Don't even start with the HPF amazing turbo kit..go hang out on M3Forum/e46fanatics and educate yourself. They can only get 425RWHP on 91octane right now. All the hype of 750HP or any power claims at lower PSI have been on pure race gas. But I digress.

Those gauges are lame, they do look like Mickey Mouse Ears.

I never said put a A Pillar gauge, those look stupid also.

A better cleaner solution could be a vent gauge like AWE has for Audis if one could be produced and the vent still works/blows air. Light output matches interior.

Otherwise, defi gauges put in a DIN spot, although there isn't one leaves you with few options I suppose.

comming from an m3, yes the hpf turbo is an amazing product. this is just their first step but the main point it is a first reliable and safe TURBO solution for the m3. yes the aa does have a 1000hp turbo but im not sure if they are releasing it to the public sale.

cleaner solution yes but better i don't think so. guages in driver's line of site compared to a pod blocking an ac vent.

I disagree with you. I think rice is purely subjective, since there is no real definition.

For me an exhaust on a civic is not rice but an exhaust on a civic to make it sound like a lawnmower is pure rice.
I don't care if it's done to improve with powere or not. If it looks or sounds absolutely horrible, then it is rice to me.

With this gage, I don't think that it's rice; I just personaly don't like it.

As far as I can tell that looks just like the cheap ass VDO gauge that I have , which is 52mm, and that can't fit inside of the AC vent. You would also have to cut into the aluminum trim piece. I already tried to mount it like that, but its not possible with a 52mm boost gauge. Do they even make a smaller size boost gauge then that? I haven't seen one.

sorry but that thing is FUGLYYYYYY. I'd rather have gauges set up on the A pillar than that thing.
