XI with stock dampers and aftermarket springs

I know this similar question has been asked before but this thread is directed at anyone who has been running stock xi suspension (struts and shocks) with any aftermarket springs, preferably H&R Sports:

How long have you been running this set up or how long before the struts and shocks went out.

Everyone says that running this kind of set up has been known to wear the dampers prematurely but i have yet to read about anyone actually having to change due to premature wear.

Thanks in advance

Hi ,
I had to change my shocks recently.
The ride was to harsh. You have to find shocks which are much shorter than original as original is too long and shocks are unable to go so much low.
Every small bump on the road you will feel like a bomb exploded under your hood. I tried with shorter bumpstops and it doesn't make much difference at all.
Any shock which is not shorter than original will have the same problem.
Bilstein B8 seems to be only good option. With Koni shocks you can adjust dumping but still they are too long for X drive :/ hope this helps

I had that exact setup for 2.5 years on my e90xi. Maybe about 20k miles.

Near the end it started to get bad. I didn't really NEED to change them out, they weren't blown (yet) but I did for my own comfort.
