Just got a set of Falken FK-452 all round 255/35 18 and 225/40 18 Load rating 94Y and the sticker inside the drivers door does not actually have the exact tyre size/load so not sure what to go with.

I've gone with 3 bar at back and 2.5 bar at front so far?

I run 34 front and 38 rear on my 452's.

I ran 32front/34back for a while and noticed inside edge wear and roll while cornering. I then switched to 36front/38rear following advice in another thread and it seems to be perfect now.

I've just gone out and checked the plaque on my car (where the sizes are listed):

255/35 18 = 2.4BAR/240kPa/34.8072PSI
225/40 18 = 2.2BAR/220kPa/31.9066PSI

Not sure if these rates change between E90,91,93 and 94(?) But mines a Coupe.

Thanks, the sticker on mine has the sizes but the load and speed rating is different so not sure how that makes a difference to the tyre pressure?

Load and speed rating should not make any difference.

Like some others on here, I have switched from the lower pressures to the higher ones (the ones for more passengers etc) and prefer the handling. On all my other cars I have preferred the feel on the lower pressures (I do pretty much all my driving one-up). Maybe non-RFT and low pressures as well is just too much give in the sidewall for a car set up for concrete sidewalls.

Start with the part loaded pressures for the size and take it from there.

As said, don't worry about load rating, Y speed should be on there though as thats standard.

No, 2.2 on the front and 2.4 at the rear if you believe what BMW have to say (I do).

The 2.5 and 3.0 is only for running 4+ adults and luggage.

But it would be worth monitoring the wear and try some of the pressures mentioned above if you experience inside edges running off etc.

As said, load and speed ratings should not play into what pressure.

That sticker really isn't very clear...

So in the column on the right where the following are:

225/35 R 19
225/40 R 18
255/30 R 19
255/35 R 18

and that column covers two rows in the next two columns...

Do they both apply to all four sizes then depending on how many ppl in the car?

Sorry, not sure I get you.

Column 1 = Tyre Size
Column 2 = Front Pressure for tyres in Column 1
Column 3 = Rear Pressure for tyres in Column 1

Column 4 = Load (applies to all columns)

Column 5 = Tyre Size
Coulmn 6 = Front Pressure for tyres in Column 5
Column 7 = Rear Pressure for tyres in Column 5

I can't remember the pressure in bar, but I run my E91 at 36F 39R. Seems to give even tyre wear and sensible ride comfort.

I run (and always have) my comapny car at the max listed pressures for the tyre size fitted.

I get lowest rolling resistance and greater economy.
Ride is a little harsher, and stopping distance may be slighty adversly affected but hard to measure (I have tried however don't have the VBOX any more).

But I still see NO unusual tyre wear as a result of what amounts to 'overinflation'.
On the second set now, even wear and great economy from the little P7 Ecos'

Is that a touch low for an E91? Are you running 225/40 R18 and 255/35 R18?

My plate (after conversion) comes in at 37F and 44R but I actually run at 38F and 45R.

Been running the 235/35/19 Falken 452s at plated pressures.
Doing a lot of work this week to this car, but note the fronts are knocking off the edges slightly more than centre.
I'm a motorway miler generally and this wear pattern suggests underinflation.

I will now try upping the fronts by 3psi (0.2 BAR) and see how the next 10k goes

Remember the plaques are for run flats.
I tend to add around .2 bar for regular tyres.

I've been trying to "decipher" the tyre pressure sticker on my car to ensure I'm running the correct pressure, having replaced my 17" SE trim alloys with some 18" MV3 alloys and ordinary performance tyres (I've binned the run-flats!!)

My sticker is slightly different to that pictured by "urfankhaliq" but mine is an E90 saloon, not a coupe.

I'm running 225 40 18 tyres on the front and 255 35 18 tyres on the rear, so I've decided to set it up 2.5 BAR front and 3.0 BAR rear. This translates as 36 PSI front and 43 PSI rear.

Does anybody think this is too high?

That's what I run with 19s on the Coupe.

I still think the pressures are high in comparison to other cars, but just following the label

Wow some people are running seriously high pressures. Im 36 fronts and the turn in beautiful. 40 on the rears, I am thinking of running higher PSI but didnt want to over inflate, but will try 42, 44, and possibly 46 on the rears now. (E90 M sport saloon standard suspension set up, aftermarket wheels).

Is anyone else running high rear pressures?
