Buyng new from BMW

I know this is a E90 forum, but you are a well informed bunch so will ask the Q:

The mrs decided she wants a 1 series using her car allowance to fund it, so just spent the ladt 3 hrs at a BMW dealer. It would seem that our best option is go for a PCP deal on a brand new car. My Q is how aggresive shld I be on price/dealer contribution? the 1 series has been out a while so Iam sure there must be scope to haggle, we are looking at a 118d M sport auto RRP is £25705

What figure shld i aim for as a discount? Iam thinking a couple of k

We got £5k off list price and GAP insurance thrown in, which was worth an additional £799. This was for a new F10 built to spec though.

At the moment, BMW is offering £2,490 dealer contribution off the list price for that car you stated. Use the "Build your BMW" tool on the BMW UK website and specify the model and options you want, the discount is quoted in the finance example. Sounds like the 3 hours your spouse spent was unproductive as the sales executive is abusing her ignorance if neglecting to mention that current offer. The minimum you should be paying for that car is £23,215

That is a good deal - try to squeeze another 2-3 hundred off this list price or insist on some extra goodies or accessories thrown in to sweeten the deal. Be in the showroom when you do this, and offer your ultimatum in exchange for your signature and deposit.

Be ready to commit. Some dealers are reluctant to offer further deals as customers bounce around with the offer to get dealerships competing each other. They can and should offer you a little more off the car, but again, be ready to commit.

Good luck and congratulations to you both.

Remember that BMW factory offer (dealer contribution) doesn't mean the dealer cannot chip in with some of their profit for a further discount. So 2.5k discount is the worst case scenario

Are you or any member of your family UK Forces, RAF, MOD or in the Police Service? If so you'll be looking around the 15% off list mark, sometimes more.

Iam going back Friday for their "VIP" day, which they seem to think is a day they can offer higher discounts. so based on that iam going for 2.5k off the price and a dealer contribution of 3k. Will see what they say.

Cheers
