Great thread. Why is no one following the stock specs for 18s to use 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. I noticed all the 18s featured are using 1 cm wider tyres 235/40/18 and 265/35/18. Why is everyone screaming for more rubber?

Thats because the Advan RS are wider than the stock rims. 225/40/18 will look stretched on a 8.5" wide rim.

I'm about to replace the tires on my Advans. Will be going 245/45 and 265/35. I'm currently at 235 and 265 and the understeer is excessive.

I remember someone mentioning something about a fitment issue, the RS being the correct wheel for the 3 series. Perhaps someone can confirm or deny...

they have d fitments for the 3.... at least in the rz-df. I assume it follows along all product lines of the same manufacturer.

Yes, but you need to order the adapter rings.
There are pics of them on the first page.

Hi,

Sorry bring up old thread.

Are 235/40R18 and 265/35R18 correct sizes for wheels 18x8.5 and 18x9.5? I check omd 1010tire seem the rear wheel height is shorter.

Thanks

The small difference in diameter won't be an issue. Right now I'm running 255/35 F and 275/35 rear without an issue.
