Just finished installing the alarm which was a relatively easy DIY project. The siren is piercingly loud which I like I'll be glad to help out at the group install meet if needed.

Some lessons learned:

- No need to disconnect the battery.

- I found the PnP harness for the motion sensor was impossible to release from the rear lamp trim. I wound up using needle-nose pliers to break it free so it could be plugged into the sensor.

- Didn't have to take apart the engine bay trim pieces as suggested.

- Didn't have to remove the wheel to gain access for the siren install. It makes things easier to move around, but it's not necessary.

Removing the rear light trim is a little tricky but give it time and it comes off.
Same for engine bay trim. No need to remove it.
As for the siren, I just lifted the car. No need to remove wheel.

I had my car programmed for the alarm yesterday. Depending on your progman version, it can take several hours to update. In fact it took the tech 2-3 hours to update my 2/07 production car. I have no reason to believe the labor hours were inflated since this job was done for free and I was provided a loaner at their expense.

Anyway, so I took my SA out to lunch as a thank you and found out he works on 100% commission (no base salary). If he gets even just a few "4s" on the satisfaction surveys, it can cost him a few thousand at the end of the month! The guy is a true car, modding and racing enthusiast. I hope he doesn't leave the dealership anytime soon!

i don't feel badly about giving my SA a 4 on his last survey...I reminded him 50 times NOT to wash my car....and they still did it...he's lucky I didn't give him a 1.
