Hi guys,

Just bought a 56 335i e92, will get my hands on it on Friday or Saturday

It's a Monaco blue with cream leather, prof sat nav etc etc. The only thing i wanted and it doesn't have is the hi-fi, although reading through some of the posts on audio i reckon it makes more sense to go aftermarket.

I also wanted to say thanks, I've already picked up a lot of very useful stuff

Cheers,
Alex

Hello...Another Newbie

Hi Everyone

I'm new to the forum so I thought I'd introduce myself and my new (to me) E90 320i SE in Sparkling Graphite.

I'm looking to do some small mods when I can afford to, such as bigger wheels, M sport steering wheel and blackline rear lights....although I am open to suggestions

Lupe? Our family relations are as real as his name, or mine for that matter. I'm going with a '09 E92 335i, saphire black, red leather, premium and sports, kind of undecided on the nav (want to make sure it's the name hard drive system) and the sound system.
I'm in Peterborogh, you?

Hey there!

Another newbie here, just brought a used '06 318i SE.

It's my first ever BMW and absolutely loving it! It's just a class above my old focus. Can't get over how quiet it is!

It's Jet Black and has:

Folding wing mirrors
rear sun blinds
Xenon headlights
Headlight Wash
Dakota Black Leather

Spent a bit of time on the forum- its just fantastic. The amount of information I've amassed is mind blowing. I've particularly liked all the audio guides since i think it's the weak link in the car. Just put an alpine iDA-x100 in the car which i would never have attempted without the diy guides here. Looking to upgrade the speakers next and prob an amp too.

Also love the little things that I've found out about after I brought the car such as the offside wing mirror dipping when reverse is selected and the headlights turning off when the key is taken out (old car had auto headlights so keep forgetting to turn them off!).

Hopefully this will be the stepping stone for a better bimmer in a couple of years time! (Did a insurance comparsion quote for a 325i and the premium jumpped £1000)

Hello one and all! It's great to be here!

woah thats an increase , how old are you then ? When i swopped my 120d for the 335d it was only £50 more !!!

Welcome to the forum, glad your enjoying your car, not suprised you love it though after driving a focus like you say completely different legue. You wont want anything else after driving BMW, i had a vectra for a few days last year and the quality/drive is decades appart.

good luck in keeping that Jet Black clean my sapphire black is dreadful to maintain, but nothing looks better when its clean

I'm 28 and have only been driving for just under 5 years. The insurance was a saga in itself. The old car was insured with elephant who charged me 659 sqid for 10 months. When I brought the 318 they asked about the extras so i told them, only for them to tell me that they couldn't insure the car because it had model desgination deletion and was therefore heavily modified. Now english wasn't this guy's first language so i said put me through so his supervisor, and i told him that model designation deletion was a customer option from BMW and costs nothing to add to the car and to check the bmw web site if he didnt belive me. So he went off and called me back and said yes i'm right but he'll have to check with the underwriters to see if they'll insure me!

So i went on confused.com and did another comparison and esure quoted me 383 squid for 12 months! Phoned them up, made sure it was all kosher, told them the extras "yes sir no problems, no change to the quote". Elephant called me back the next day and said they could insure me for an extra 65 quid over what i've already paid. And they wouldn't compete with esure!

Bottom line, I cancelled the elephant insurance. With the refund i got back i covered the cancellation fee (£50) and the esure insurance which kept me covered for an extra 4 months over the elephant cover. Total no brainer.

Think you're right about the colour! When i picked the car up from the dealership it was raining and the next day the car had watermarks all over it! Absolutely *EVERYTHING* is showing up on the black paintwork. But i've been reading other people's tactics on cleaning cars on the forum and gonna follow suit. Seems foam/shampoo/clay/wax is the way to go!
