You'll be fine with a 20mm spacer as far as rubbing in concerned.

Wouldn't that make the offset around 17? Are you sure that won't rub? I know you can run lower offsets with the E90s, but 17 seems too low - esp. since he is lowered on H&R race springs.

H&R Race springs do lower the car significantly, but the rear wheels also camber in more as the suspension is compressed. I'm pretty sure with the stock 255/35/18 tire you won't have to worry about rubbing. A +17 on a 8.5" is still on the safe side as far as offsets are concerned.

I remember at least 1 member running spacers front and rear. Try to search for the member.

you wont have a problem. Its an et of 17 but its on a 8.5in rim. I would just use 15mm if I were to lower it. I dont like wheels that arent very wide pushed out too much.I think it looks funny. I recommend 15mm but I guarantee you'll be fine with the 20mm.I hope this helps.
