Let's just say if I had to buy a minivan at some point in my life......
I would buy a Honda Odyssey- and trick it out like that white dude rocker on the commercial |

Trade - no. I'd buy it as a second vehicle. I was actually looking to get something that's a minivan that is still kind of fun to drive.
Mazda5 is it in my opinion given as to the fact that you can pick one up with a manual trans. Oh and it looks just like the 'all new' bmw

This is why I think the World has gone Bat-Shit-Nuts.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

This pisses me off beyond measure. 1,000 respect points lost for BMW. I hope this line for BMW absolutely tanks.

The weird thing is, there's a totally obscure market out there for exactly that.
But, I can at least see the appeal: boring minivan -> absurd engine = hilarious sleeper The visual mods though....unless it's just for irony or something, I don't understand why. |

I take it the board of directors at BMW is now full trust fund retards. First there was the X6, which to me was basically a lifted sedan on big wheels but I grew accustomed to it. Then BMW came out with a 2 series, I was ok with it too because it pretty much looks like a sleeker version of the E92. Then the retardation started to kick into high gear when they released a 4 series to supposedly replace the E92. The M235 looks way better than the 435 and it's cheaper so I don't know how they plan on making money. But of course BMW had to top themselves by then releasing a fucking 4 door 4 series because apparently the current F30 was just not doorsy enough. Of course they also went ahead and did the same shit with the 6 series. Now we got coupes made to look like sedans and sedans made to look like fucking suvs on big boy wheels. And now we can add a mini-van to this cluster fuck. Fuck you BMW, this shit has gotten out of hand now.

Otherwise you wouldn't have the best selling product in the range, outselling competitors by a factor of 5 to 1. Good stuff. Perhaps one day you may come to understand winning strategy. It's just like when we're young (which you are, be it age-wise or wisdom-wise) and think our parents don't know better, and only with age do we understand what they did and can be thankful to them. Just a parallel. |

I had you covered. How do you figure? Quantity over quality? Based on different number plaques pasted to trunks? You do realize BMW is a) a mainstream product and b) most of its platforms are shared throughout the model range? |

Having a best selling anything speaks not of the quality of the product, more of the quality of the marketing. I don't disagree with you Valter, jus sayin'

would it be safe to say the marketting advantage was the history and tradition of producing the "ultimate driving machine?" i think the company runs the risk of losing that reputation eventually but for now they must think its working. i dont understand some of the cars they ve come out with either particularly the GT models and the 4 door 4 series but I like the 6 series gran coupe a lot more than the 5 series. maybe they are onto something. I dunno but Porsche now has SUVs and a 4 door car, Jaguar is supposed to come out with an SUV - maybe BMW figures its better to start the trend than to try and catch up later.
