Valentine 1 users: How many times have you been pulled over?
Since you installed your V1, have you ever been pulled over for speeding? I'm considering investing in one. I've heard it's the best radar detector. Any stories you guys might wanna share? Thanks

Never have been pulled over, and I usually drive around at 10-20 over typically. I also took a road trip from here to Kentucky, and it saved my ass plenty. You will get a lot of false positives if you live in a densely populated area with a lot of commercial/retail buildings however (sliding doors). Around here the patrols pretty much only use Ka band and Laser unless you head out into the less populated areas. Then once in a while I will see K used.
The V1 is probably the single best purchase I have made for my car. |

I used to have a Valentine 1. I loved it. Now that all of my friends are troopers and local P.O.'s, I either know everyone, or they know me, or we are mutual friends. I would say Valentine 1 is by far the best unit and most reliable. I owned a K40 prior to the V1, that was great too, but V! is better. Good Luck!

well worth it... I got pulled over once and got a ticket but it wasn't the V1. My wife had turned to volume off when she drove my car and I didn't know it. Got off anyway because my father in law knew the judge.

Any radar detector will have more than enough range to give you plenty of advanced warning. Whether one gives you 1 mile or 2 miles doesn't really matter. That said, I've had a V1 for about 6 yrs and love it. The main reason to get the V1 over other detectors is the arrows. By knowing which direction the radar is coming from will give you valuable info as to whether or not the alert is real or fake and therefore help you make a better decision about how to react to the alert. Once you experience the arrows you will never want to go without them again. To answer your question, I have never been pulled over while using my V1, but then again I have only been stopped once with other detectors in 22 yrs of driving. And I have been known to exceed the speed limit on occasion.
