It's not that big of a deal. Just googled it and it said shit like that is rare. Found mainly in people with diabetes.

The problem with brown recluse spider bites is more prevalent in rural areas during the summer months.
It's a very well known occurence, but doesn't happen very often. |

My friend was bitten by a recluse... he nearly lost his leg. The venom of a recluse is a flesh eating enzyme. He got bitten on the shin. It started as a bite mark, then grew into a large open sore, and kept growing. Green veins started to spread out from the bite. Doctors seemed at a loss, and they wanted to amputate, but then someone realized what was going on and managed to give him an anti-biotic/anti-venom. He still has a spot on his leg the size of a silver dollar that is about 4 milimeters below the level of the rest of his leg, and this was 4-5 years ago.
If he'd been bitten near his armpit or crotch, and the venom had made it into a major artery, he'd be dead. |

I know several people that have been bit here in the MD/VA area!
They are extremely dangerous. They seem to bite people a lot. I know its supposed to be rare, but I have never heard of anyone getting bit by a black widow and I know 2 that have been bit by a brown recluse in the last 5 years. |

one more thing, I have never seen any spiders in my attick or crawl space. Since there are no bugs or plants or anything there, there do not seem to be any spiders either.
The one guy that got bit was adding on to a wooden car port. The other guy got bit in his house. |
