Need help with a part id......
I just replaced the water pump in the car.....works great and the BavAuto DIY helped immensely! Only issue is that when they ask you to remove the power steering line bolts to move them out of the way (item 4 in the drawing below) I stripped the rubber thingy that separates the power steering lines from, I think, the chassis. The bolt (number 4) goes right through this rubber piece and there are two of them.
Can someone tell me what this part number is for the rubber thing? It's not in any drawings I can find. Thanks a ton!!! http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...43&hg=32&fg=20 |

Hmm...yeah, that part might only come with a new hose and not be available separately or by itself. Why didn't you just unbolt the hanger itself instead of the rubber isolator? I tried doing the same thing, but as soon as I saw that rubber bushing bind, I backed off it and just took the bracket off.

I sent an email to bavauto to see if they could figure it out (their video right?). The Navy in me wanted to follow the procedure exactly for fear of getting lost....
I learned that the bolt is at the very bottom of the rubber mount and I was twisting in the middle like an idiot. Oh well...lessons learned. Thanks for responding! |

I know this post is old but I am wondering if OP was able to find the part # for this or maybe somebody else might be able to help.
When I removed this isolator, it was stuck to the chassis mount so when I forced it to come off I wrecked the 10 mm screw so now I am having hard time putting the nut all the way up. Thx

I never did find it. I made a Frankenstein solution from different spacers and bolts I got from the local hardware store. It worked completely 100% and still continues to work as far as I know.
I would have loved an OEM solution but I think the only way you are going to get that is to buy the whole rack and that's just overkill and honestly unnecessary. Good luck! |
