I'm good.........So far. I've probably logged about 2K of my 3K miles locally. It looks soooo much better without the plate that I'd be willing to pay the $55 ticket once or twice a year to keep it that way. Just in case (meaning: when) I get stopped, I have the tag and bracket in the trunk.
"Uh, officer, I just haven't had time to go to the dealer to have it installed. I don't think I could bring myself to run those screw through my bumper" |

For some reason VOB didn't give me a front license plate. Since November I haven't had a problem. My brother who just bought a z4m doesn't have one either. Are you sure MD law requires a front plate?

I got nailed at work on Friday. I'm already having to figure out how to get a replacement front plate, or if I should just go for a personalized one.

If it is law, then I am now really surprised by the fact that my Maryland dealership only got me one plate! I also guess I must be invisible to cops! I constantly drive thru MD, DC, and VA due to work, I have gone by and driven behind dozens of cops, and I have yet to get pulled over.

Yeah I thought about that, but I took it off about a month ago. I decided to stop advertising VOB. I was thinking about getting an e90post tag. Still, no ticket.

Had my car since 10/2006. No problem so far. But now that I said it, I know I'll get one within the week. Thanks Drew, you're an ass.

I agree... I'm wondering if I should ask VOB not to drill the holes for the front plate. I've seen plenty of cars (not BMW) not have front plates. I've noticed that cops really don't look at the front when they give speeding tickets.

I unfortunately have a front tag installed from the dealer on my 335. I really do hate it, but have decided to live with it. I installed bumper plugs on my last Volvo and got pulled over for no front tag around 8:30pm, I had a few drinks in me and was leaving a work function....scarred the crap out of me. Not worth getting pulled over for the front tag as it can lead to other problems.
Now if I didnt have the front tags installed already I highly doubt I would drill the bumper, but I dont think its worth it to buy a new bumper and have it painted.

Dont even think about driving to BWI. They WILL stop you. The airport bacon has nothing better to do than stand in the middle of the fing road and look at your plates and registration.

actually kind of a funny comment, never heard of police being referred to as bacon. Nothing was directed at you, even if you are part of the police force.

I've been called worse... No offence taken. I really don't write many tickets, I got better things to do with my time, like play on this web site lol.

I've gotten about 4, all of them in Rockville. I usually laugh at the police when they write me a ticket for it. They're making a difference in the world one front tag ticket at a time... lol Then when you really need them, like after an accident, your ride is all kinds of messed up. They don't write a report because there was no bodily injury so its completely up to your insurance to figure it out. If they can take an hour of their time to follow me from a restaurant late at night, just to write me a 55$ ticket for no front tag, but they can't take 10 minutes to write a report saying there was an accident and it wasn't my fault... How much respect am I supposed to have for cops? Yea its a hard job, its dangerous, but when it comes down to when you really need help. They're nowhere to be found, or they're too late anyways.
