I just sat in a $8 Million Car!
 The 1958 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider. http://money.cnn.com/gallery/autos/2...ons/index.html Not the exact one in the link but same model. Only 70 of these in the world! An investment banker at the company that my friend works at, I only know him by first name as Nick, was kind enough to show us his garage here in LA. He has so many epic cars, and this is just his "fun" car collection. His "race" cars are stored somewhere else in Reno. This garage is just some inconspicuous red brick warehouse off of a street I travel on quite a bit. All my life living here, I never knew how close I was to all of that! Engine of the Merc 300 SL  Interior of the SL  Rare Porsche 911 Speedster   I'm not sure what this is, I asked and Nick told me that it's not a Lancia. Anyone here know?  This silver Shelby and the blue one are actually not original, but kit cars. The original one he has is the white one.  Ford Cosworth!   Never seen an Inline 8 before! It's actually an Alfa Romeo btw, not Ferrari.    Such an awesome Lotus  Green Morgan!  911 Turbo  REAL ORIGINAL SHELBY COBRA   LeMans Porsche! 1 of 2 in the world!   Poor Carrera GT got shown up             He's restoring a BMW and a Chevy Racer in his spare time. Not sure which models though.  Maybe someone here can tell me?        Bond would look good in this Morgan  No idea what this is. Anyone?  Original Shelby Cobra again.  How bout this one?   The 2 Shelby kit cars.  Interior of the blue Shelby kit car.               The Alfa runs on 115 Octane+Alcohol!  Most of these posters are valuable collections of art and very old/rare memorabilia.  That Veedol is a rare copperback poster that is worth at least $15,000.     Historic vehicle? Yes indeed.    I didn't get any pics of the back, but he has a full scale slot car model race track of the LeMans track in France. Some beautiful cars in there! Is that blue car #55 a lancia? Looks like something that would do Pikes Peak. I appreciate the range of cars he collects!

More seriously, this is a very good collection. I like the Renault 5 turbo just because it was my first car (well except I had the mundane .9L engine  ). Should open a museum or something instead of keeping it all to himself. Proof that he's got too much money on his hands IMO . |
