It was pants. Felt like I'd seen it all before... Because I had.

Besides, chris Harris drove the pagani about 6 months ago, and it was a better video!

If it wasn't so brilliantly shot I'd have no qualms about not watching it, but I would genuinely miss the beautiful photography of it. In HD some sequences are truly breathtaking. But that's just me being a bit of a ponce!

I have to agree, some shots are staggeringly good. I especially like the slow motion sequencing they do when drifting or at full throttle. Also the music is often well judged. It's a very well produced show...

I think the presenters are inherently the right people. When they are on a test they exude enthusiasm and passion. It's the sequences in the studio that piss me off most - mostly JCs ego trip and Hammond playing the fool..

Maybe it's time for a change?

Tom Ford, Jonny Smith & Chris Harris get my vote.....

The P45 bit was utter garbage and seemed to take up half the show. The dragon den sequence made me cringe.

dragons den is equally shite, so combining the two just made it worse.

clarksons half hour single indulgent foray into building a car was useless. the staging used to be much funnier, although you knew the joke was coming it was still funny. now its just something that I could have written.

im hoping they thought it was the weakest of the programmes with regards to contents, and so the best is yet to come.
when my mrs asked why I was watching this drivel, I didnt actually have an answer.

if next week doesnt start off better, then i'll be putting on NCIS.

only my opinion of course!

thing is.. you'd expect them to come back with a bang

instead we get a car thats been reviewed by everyone EXCEPT top gear.

a bentley we've all seen before, doing stuff thats moderately exciting if james may wasnt being an arse

a small car thats pointless, doing the same gags he did the last time he had a small car.

good guest though!! the power lap looked hilarious fun

Poor show last night. As others have said, the P45 bit was utter shite, I think I laughed the first time he banged his head but that's about it. There was no need for it to take up 20+mins. Lets hope the rest of the series is better as I used to love this show.

As others have said, I would have expected the series opener to be the one intended to catch people in rather than drive them away with it being poor.

The trailer they show at the beginning of the show for what's coming up in the series didn't look too inspiring.

With regards to the opening show, I think their "headline" was to fact the Pagani posted the fastest ever time around the track.

Pahhh I think it's just become fashionable to hate on top gear. Last night wasn't bad

Hammond is an annoying shite but Clarkson is still brilliant and I personally thought the p45 segment other than the dragons den which was crap: was very very funny.

Bentley rally segment was great and you don't enjoy cars if you think otherwise. The way he was driving that was was immense.

Well, thanks chaps.

So if something went wrong with the video recording, that I've set to save (hopefully) the first episode, I won't be too dissappointed with missing it, as it was shit anyway.

That's really cheered me up.
I'll have to console myself with Bohemia Pilsen and BBB eye candy!

Haven't seen a beemer here yet but another week to go

I keep forgetting to post this, but did anyone else notice the really fit blonde behind Clarkson in the 'news' section? Very strategically placed but it meant I couldn't focus on anything else for that part!

I'll admit that I weakened and started watching it. I also set up a series link on the old Sky+.

Got as far as the P45 thing and turned it off. Deleted the series link too. It was appalling. I would never tire of inflicting physical pain on either Hammond or Clarkson. Oddly May I don't mind too much.

The little joke at the beginning regarding nothing having changed so hurrah! Did they mean nothing had changed and that they'd carry on doing wild and wacky things with cars? Or that nothing had changed and that they'd carry on doing exactly the same wild and wacky things with cars? I can't believe it would be the latter. Wouldn't a producer or some BBC bod step in and say 'hang on chaps, this all looks a bit familiar...'

well tbh it has been running for over 10 years now... what else can they do?!

answers on a postcard please

also they can't replace the presenters as far as i'm aware as they (well Clarkson defo) own rights to the show. Good luck with that.
