Please tell me from 1st hand experience and not what you heard. I would like to make a sound decision, so i would apppreciate all the help from you're input.

I've got the KW v2, and I'm happy with those.

But I haven't tried the PSS9 so I cant say if they are better or worse.

I just put on the PSS9's and all I can say is I"M a happy camper. I will only speak about the PSS9's. The car rides better then the sport suspension. Handles better and looks 100 times better. I was worried about doing the height adjustment and dampening adjustment after the install but was surprised it was not that bad. I do not have to take any wheels off to do the dampening and to change the height adjustment I do have to take off the rear wheels but the front can stay on to do the adjustment.

Have a good shop put either ones on. Its about a 6-8 hour job. I had the alignment done right after the install. The shop was very impressed how few adjustments were needed to get the alignment back to BMW specs.

I bought my PSS9's from eshocks.com. Very good service plus saved about $150.

Which ever set up you go with you will like the way your car rides and looks.

High pressure shock, single tube design.
9 settings on dial - Compression and rebound adjusted at same time when turning the knob.
Dont have to be removed to be adjusted.
Lifetime warrenty
$1400 -1500

KW-V2 -
Low presure, twin tube design.
Turning knob changes changes rebound only, compression is preset by KW.
V3's alow indvidual changes to rebound and compresion.(To much of a hasle in my opinion unless you track your car)
Dont have to be removed to be adjusted.
Lifetime warrenty
KW V2-$1400-1500

For some reason, I was under the impression that the Bilsteins were more expenisve. Both are made in Germany?

And the KWs have a lifetime warranty too?

Kw's by far!!!!!! Ive drove in both and the bilstein are much harsher than than the KW!! Im sorry but for the money I expect a nice soft plush ride even though im on the ground and with KW thats what u get! With bilstein i swore i was on some cut springs!

I got mine shipped to my door for $1400, no tax but im sure if you look around you probably can get a similar deal for the KW V2.

I think they are very close in comfort depending on your settings. Thats whats awsome about a coilover.

maybe it was the settings im not sure but damb it was a huge difference!

Basically what i look for is when u go over a bump in the road at full speed and how much you feel the rebound and if its harsh or soft..
I have a 07 C230 on stock sport suspension and thers a spot near my house where the road goes up a bit and I with my bmw can hit it at full speed without even feeling it where as in the C230 its like running into a brick wall.
so knowing how my cars felt i got into my buddys 03/M3 with PSS9's and it felt like I was in my C230 no differnce!!!

It must have been the settings of the PSS9s--I ran them at middle stiffness (6) on my M3 and they were far from harsh--less harsh than the stock suspension. In fact, they could easily be adjusted to be too soft. It's pretty useless to make a comparison between two systems and not account for how each setup was tuned

I knew this thread will be opinion based but the facts are that both are the same (good) quality CO's.

Beside 1 rebound feature on the bilsteins, they will both act the same if they are on the same soft/firm settings, correct?

I don't think you can necessarily say they will both 'act' the same. I'm sure the range of compression/rebound rates are different for each and the spring rates also differ and thus there will be different ride characteristics. Most people have said that the KWs tend to be stiffer across the board, and I've heard more than one professional say that the PSS9s are tuned better for the street, while the KWs are tuned better for the track (I believe this opinion is largely based on the fact that KWs use linear springs while PSS9s use progressive springs--someone please correct me if I'm wrong). I can't speak on the KWs personally, since I have no personal experience with them. I do think it's safe to say, based on all of the feedback, that both systems are very high quality and you can't go wrong with either one.

I've heard the same story about KW's about softness. I had PSS9's on 2 different e46's. Handling was supurb, and I drove it on a daily basis at 4 (1 being stiffest out of 9). It was "Stiff" but not harsh per se. I think a setting at 6 or 7 would give it an ultra-luxury feel to it. I may go either way for the e92 though, depending on the price. However, I am leaning towards the Pss9's due to my postive experience with them.

Ive been running Kw V2s for over a year now and only have good things to say about them

I rode in my friends car with stock sport suspension and H&R sport springs and the ride was MUCH harsher than mine

Everytime he rides in my car he tells me how much better my car rides than his


I HIGHLY recommend them!
