Wax first, then Zaino?

I am getting ready to embark on 1500 mile road trip to see the Dallas Cowboys training camp. I am concerned about the paint because I have not done anything to it since delivery. Would it be ok to wax it now and the Zaino latter? Any suggestions would help.

not sure which zaino product you want to apply onto your car, but i think zaino likes you to remove everything that isn't zaino before applying their stuff. I'm not sure if the zaino itself does that. Hopefully someone else will chime in

You can wax it now for your trip if you like, then when you have time to zaino you can do that in the future.

Zaino itself won't strip anything already on there, which is why it is suggested to clay the car first, then apply the Zaino after that. I suppose the next best thing would be to use the ZAIO first, then Zaino if claying won't be done.

That being said, if you wax now, you will want to remove it later (clay bar or ZAIO, preferably clay bar) and apply Zaino. If you still want to add wax, add it on top of your Zaino, not vice versa.

Generally you do not apply sealants like Zaino or Klasse over waxes as they won't stick. On the other hand, you can apply a wax over a sealant after it has had time to cure.

for klasse or zaino to work properly you need to use dishsoap to remove everything on the car that's not klasse or zaino

Yes, this is right on. Sealants need at least 24 hours to cure before applying wax. Wax over sealant, just like dawdog said.

Ejaz is correct. Wax your car, take your trip. When you're ready to use Zaino ( I'm a zaino junky, I love the stuff) you have to first wash the car with something like Dawn liquid soap. That will strip off all the wax. Then clay the car using Z-6 as a lubricant. The bar should slide lightly over the car like a hockey puck sliding on ice. Then use your zaino products.
If you have the time, wash the car with Dawn, then put on your zaino and go. You can always put more coats on later to bring up the shine. It's not that time intensive. Especially is you're using Zaino All In One. Easy to use and the shine is amazing.

Not true. Depends on the product used before/after. I don't see any problems with using KAIO, Jeff Werkstatt's Prime, and various other sealants before using Zaino.

You can wax first and use ZAIO after, that or clay will remove what is left on your paint.

Dawn soap is not a must. You can use ZAIO/Clay instead.

Depends on the sealant. But carnuba wax over sealant, yes.

read the directions that come with your product and that will guide you since we're coming up with mixed answers on here

Sal Zaino doesn't provide the best directions.

He says to use Dawn.
He says use an old T-shirt to take material off.
He says you MUST use ZAIO.

The only way to tell is to try other stuff and see what works best for you. If you like using Zaino only, a T-shirt, and Dawn, that's fine. But if you find better combos, feel free to use those too. Experimenting is fun.

i do agree the directions are the best for a person who has never used zaino, but if you have the time you can email Sal and he'll actually explain everything really clearly and step but step he helped me a lot
