Advice for Paint/Interior Color Combinations
Hi, I just registered for the forums and this is my first post.
I've decided to go with a 2010 328i sedan and my search has come down to these final two configurations: Monaco Blue with Black Dakota leather and Dark Burl trim And since this will be my first BMW, I just wanted to ask for any advice, suggestions, comments.VS. Blue Water Metallic with Grey Dakota leather and Aluminum trim I've never had black interior before, does it really get as hot (esp. in Los Angeles area) as people say they do? My previous car had aluminum trim and after a few years, a lot of the surface was covered with scratches, can anyone tell me any personal experiences with aluminum trims in BMW's (esp. with respect to durability)? I'd appreciate any input, thanks! Last edited by KnowledgeMC; 03-27-2010 at 05:46 PM.. |

The blue water is definitely more unique..have maybe only seen a couple. As for the heat and black leather--just get some tint!

The aluminum can dent over time, but shouldn't if you are careful and conscious of it. I would take the Monaco/Black combination between those two, personally.
Oh and welcome!

+ for the Monaco/Black. The Blue water is beautiful, but I think the gray makes it too understated. Blue Water & Oyster on the other hand....

I'd go with the dark combo, but change out the dark burl for gloss black...that will be a very sharp car!

I must say, I thought I was in love with gray leather when I chekce di tout online, and what not. But every single used car I looked at with grya leather, looked horrible even with 20K miles on it. Go with the dark.

Monaco Blue is the way to go. I am picking my Monaco Blue (with Dakota Beige) Saturday, I can't wait! Also, BMW phased out Monaco Blue for 2011 which will make it more unique and possibly help resale value.
Get tints for the black leather, I currently have black leather in my G35x with tints and in the summer, it's usually not too bad. |

If you can take care of your interior, try Oyster!

Personally I think that the "wood trim" looks kind of cheesy in dark interiors, so I'd go with the aluminum if you get black leather. The wood looks nice if you were to get it w/ beige interior. The wood is a lighter color and looks classy with beige.
My car is a black sapphire metallic ext, w/ beige + light wood interior. :-) |

I'm not gonna lie, I think the Monaco with the Gray would look awesome, but you still have two solid color combos there, good luck!
