Something similar to these were installed on my car when I purchased it, pics attached. They looked fine, I may have kept them if they didn't have the colors but I ended up replacing them with traditional black kidneys.

You painted lower bumper mesh grilles or are those black plastic?

Those F3X/F8X def look better without the M stripe/colors. I'm going for more of an OEM + look with my E93 build so I wanted to keep things "period correct" and got gloss black E9X kidneys. I'm also considering the chrome with gloss black slat version.
