Back on the topic, at that point I would assume that chances seeing data from Wagner is slim to none. Better concentrate on getting the power to the ground. Time for LSD

Hello John,

just to let you know. The Flowbench is running and working. We are getting the latest Audietech Analyzing Software tomorrow.
The software that was coming along with the machine, was running only on one pre set static flow, so that would not give us proper graph what we would need.
So we had to order the new software. I’ll keep you updated…

That's what I just send to another guy from the BMW forum...

The reality is that he is working on his timeline, not ours'. He said he ordered the equipment, he said he had to get his building wired, all of those things were true. He cannot control the timeline of his equipment supplier, but obviously he has the equipment installed, and presumably will have the correct software soon. Props to Carsten for keeping us informed and being honest about what was happening.

DD, it is not our timeline, it was his. We didn't ask him to provide data on XXXX date. We asked when he will have data for us to review. Go back to the first page on this post when he said that he needed 6wks. That was long time ago. To be honest, the diesel market in US is slim to none. We have what 10 people ff that would buy the intercooler, maybe it is just not worth for him spending the time to test it just because we have been asking for it.

Carsten bought a brand new Flow bench. That isn't cheap! He also bought the Flow bench so he could do all of his intercooler testing in house and not have to source them out for testing. I think all of the complainers need to send Wagner an extra sum of money to cover the cost of his brand new Flow bench. He develops new intercoolers for cars on a weekly basis and is a very busy person with running his shop here in Northern Germany. Not to mention he also has to look after his shop in California. The complainers need to source out companies in the states that can build bigger turbos, more performance parts etc. I did it for all of the 335d owners out there so now it is y'all's turn.

Wait. I need to pay him for asking to show me that the product he is making and selling does what he says it does? Do I need to ask my customers to pay me to prove them the product we are selling meets the specification we advertise? I could be perfectly fine if he says no on the data and move on. We asked for data and he agreed to provide. If he said no at the first place, no one would be asking.

For those saying that we should pay for his equipment to do this I don't agree at all. This is his business. He doesn't have to buy the equipment. No one put a gun to his head. I will be more than happy to pay for that intercooler provided that he shows us data to prove that the intercooler is definitely an improvement over stock. I am already half way there with the reviews from fellow forum members. Just waiting to see what he promised us. That's all

Here's a video that Axel emailed to me for posting. It's a short of Wagner's flow bench:

gruppeM3 I bought the IC and trust me!! you will notice the diferance. True WAGNER did not have to buy the machine it is not his obligation but I did advise him that in the best of interest for the AMERICANS and future "D"s it is wise to go ahead and do the data that way we can be assured that this product indeed is an enhancement to our vehicles. I for one can attest a POWER gain on my BUTT dyno and on REAL dyno runs, so if you guys want to wait go ahead I already beat you to it LOL, yes the bench flow is needed so that we can get more of it via either JBD or RENNtech flash. once we have it I will provide info to RENNtech to see if we can get some more ponies out on the car

The article demonstrates that a lot of R&D must go into designing a IC to include logging and benchmarking the efficiancy of the stock IC v the aftermarket IC.

"On the other hand, increasing the size of an intercooler can also reduce the resulting pressure drop. The velocity of the air passing through the inside of the core is a function of the volume of air flowing and the passage cross-sectional area, and fluid friction is a function of velocity. So, if the cross sectional area increases and airflow velocity drops; then so does the friction generated and the resulting pressure drop. So there's definitely a balancing act one has to play when sizing an intercooler core for
a specific application."

CP-E (located right here in MD) is the company I talked to last year at Bimmerfest about the potential of designing an IC for our cars - at the time they did express interest. I exchanged a couple of e-mails with them/Chunie, but they had other more pressing projects on their plate - this article reminded to me to send Chunie a follow-up e-mail.

Anyway good stuff.

I volunteered my car.

CP-E really puts a lot of time/expense into R&D so they need to feel like there will be a return on cost.
