325xi alignment (four wheel drive)?
My 4WD wagon pulls a bit, the steering wheel is a bit off and the mechanic who did the used car check said I should have an alignment.
The car does not have active steering, but 4WD. Right now I have the winter tires on and BMW said they can't do an alignment because my rims don't have the required holes where the custom BMW alignment machine attaches. They want $240 (Peter Pan BMW, San Mateo, CA). Wheel Works in Mountain View charges only $127 - they say no problem if it is a BMW 4WD (on the phone). What is the net-wisdom on xi alignment? Should I have BMW do it at twice the price and the hassle of changing the tires? Thanks! Last edited by marstein; 01-29-2008 at 07:12 PM.. Reason: typo |

Don't go to the stealer for stuff like this. Just go to a profesional wheel and tire shop, they likely will both have the same equipment. The only diff is the price.
