Question E92 Offset same as E90?

Did a search, posted a couple times. I'm still looking for the answer. I have got a lot of "probably", "should be". But does anyone know the offset specs for the new E92? Maybe if someone has the specs, they cpuld put it up on the wheel calculator?

The front wheel offset is the same on both the e90 and e92. The rear wheel offset on the e90 is different from the e92 because you have a lot more flexibility in available wheel widths for the e90. Are you planning on running a staggered set up or non-staggered set up?

Staggered. Tirerack says my ASA AR-1's will fit perfect(currently on an E-90).
What do you think??

What is the offset of the rear wheel? The front offsets of the e90 and e92 are bascially identical. Its the rear offset where on the e90, you can go more aggressive than the e92. You have to typically stay conservative on the e92 rear offset.

Just a quick question. On the E90, what are the ideal offsets u should use in the front and back for 18's and 19's staggered w/ the usual 235/265 people run?

Your wheels will fit, they will just sit in slightly more in the rear on your e90 compared to your e46. The e90 has a more room in the rear wheel well than any previously built 3 series sedan. The front offset is very similar in wheel fitment between the e46 and e90.

The front offsets, a 35 - 38 will be optimal.

It depends on how wide a rear wheel you will be using. How wide of a rear wheel do you plan on running?

One thing you have to remember is that the height of the wheel does not affect wheel fitment that much, ie 18 vs 19. Its the width that affects the fitment more, ie running a 8.5 vs 9 front or a 9.5 or 10 rear.

Ok, what should the ideal offsets be for a 8.5" rear and a 9.5" rear? Front would be 8.5". I still don't know if I want to go Staggered or not.

On that size staggered set up, we recommend an et35 front and an et40 rear. With this set up, we have no rubbing issues with the common tire set up of either a 235 or 245 wide front tire and a 265 to 285 wide rear tire. I suggest going staggered because on a rwd drive car, you probably will not like how an 8.5 wheel will sit on the rear. It will sit pretty much the same as stock. If you are ok with that, then thats fine. If you want the wheel to fill up a little bit more of the wheel well, then go with the staggered set up.

EVERYONE BEWARE!!!

I have the E90 335i sedan SP and I just purchased brand new wheels and tires with the correct offset, BUT they don't fit b/c the brake calipers are way to big front and rear.

According to BMW, they told me that the offset is the same from the '06 330i and '07 335i sedan b/c they use the same SP wheels. FR= ET34mm and RR=ET37mm offset. With that being said. I ordered a staggered setup. FR: 18x8.5, 235/40WR18 w/ 38mm offset and RR: 18x9.5, 265/35WR18 w/ 46mm offset. The front wheel completely rested on the brake calipers. I have red calipers and the paint was chipped off. Only 4 out of the 5 lug bolts screwed on. In the rear, the brake caliper was sooooo close to the inside of the wheel that as I spun the wheel, it knocked off all the balancing weights.

WARNING: You cannot assume that wheels made for the '06 330i will fit the 335i sedan. IT DOESN'T!! UNLESS you go for a 19" setup. I'm pissed off at the supposed wheel experts b/c I explicitly warned them that the calipers are significant larger on the 335i's than from the 330i's. BUYERS BEWARE!! Try on the wheels first before you buy them. You'll be taking a chance if you're ordering from online b/c they will always say, "DOn't worry...they will fit." Just wait til wheels specifically for the '07 335i's come out.

Here's my two cents.

Chris

So the et35/et40 is the ideal setup w/o spacers? I thought people like to get a lower offset on the back? With the et40, will the rear wheel sit almost flush to the wheel well?

Just curious, what wheels did you run? I noticed that the brake set up on the 335i 4dr were larger (and quite well built i must say too), and would play a small part on the amount of lip you can get on the front wheel which in turn would affect fitment.

The et35 setup is ideal without having to use spacers. The et35 will be best if you want it as close to the fender without it rubbing. If you go with the et40 and want to push it closer to the fender, you will need that 5mm spacer. People did use the lower offset, ie the et20, but have ran into some rubbing issues.

Wheels are 8.5 front ET +40, Rear is 9.5 ET +39. Running 235 in the front 265 rear. So on the E92 will they sit out a little more in the rear? If so that's OK.

Would the sport package wheels (style 189) on 2007 335i coupe fit the sport package (style 162) on 2006 330i sedan? I believe they have the same spec and offset.
