This is a great question. BUMP!

Ooops, re-read... This is for the future firmware - but good to keep on the radar

Bump again for the questions and Bump for Stage 2 CANbus!!!

Last question for Shiv,

Now that we can clear the tuner codes, what is a safe torque setting for 93 pump gas?

The stg 2 map will be posted tomorrow. Just catching up on things after been out of town for the last several days. I'd leave the torque setting alone at 90% on all the maps when running 91-93oct fuel. At least until you can confirm that you are making more power with it raised. That would require a dyno or the next firmware version that we are currently working on

Installed my CANBus wire upgrade tonight; the older v3.2 stage 2 map feels faster than the v3.3 CANBus stage 1 map but my BMW FATS was lower with the CANBus (6.26 vs. 6.28). Any update on the stage 2 CANBus map Shiv?

Re-doing a few things in preparation for closed loop autotuning. That is not done yet but we are setting the foundation for it "globalizing" the basic structure of the map. Hard to explain here but y'all will see soon enough.

Does it mean that different stages will become redundant? What's the use of different maps when one map can autotune? Or I don't get something?

HMMM...

Auto tuning...closed loop system...no adaptation...

Sounds like the new maps will be as close to a flash as possible but with all the added flexibility and user adjustability of the piggybacks.

This seems like a the next generation of tunes. For now I am still very happy with all the extra torque and power on the CANbus stage 1 beta. Hard to see how it could be improved upon...

Keep us updated Shiv!

Well, in case of ESS flash, there are different stages. That means there's no 100% autotune.

By the looks of it, we will have different maps for 6AT and 6MT. Beyond that, we are looking at just one map for any set-up with a stock turbo. With the auto-tuning activated, the PROcede will actively monitor knock status and ignition retard. With this info, it will adjust both the user torque level/max boost AND the ignition trim % until it achieves max safe performance (which can be defined by the user or left on default settings). Right now, there is too much variance between cars, conditions, fuel quality to provide a one-size-fits-all tune. So we are going to let the computer do what it does best in order to compensate. While still providing max/min authority ranges and a visual indication of knock activity (flashing SES light).

This is a true auto-tune (boost, fuel and ignition adjusted in both directions). Not like the auto-adapt or auto-tune terms that have been thrown around before which is basically wastegate DC adaption and negatively learned ignition corrections.

Shiv, any idea when we'll at least be able to adjust for octane rating? I think i just wanna wait for that instead of getting the race maps from you.. i have this 104 octane sitting my garage waiting to be used

The whole thing sounds complicated and ambitious... although if executed as intended, could actually be the most simple (and Genious) solution of all.

As long as it is as strong as the current CANbus map (and rock-solid), I am sure that we will all be very happy.

The Knock monitor is also a really cool idea.

ETA?

Shiv, how will this autotune map compare to current maps performance wise? For instance, I now have catless DPs, scoops, DCI and, of course, Procede RevII. Waiting for FMIC.
With the setup, I only an use stage 1 maps (not completely catless). Will this autotune map 'take advantage' of the DPs, FMIC and show better results than current stage 1 map?

Hi Edo - you can run Stage 2 with your setup with no problems at all as long as you have 93+ octane gas. We are a bunch of guys runnig that in Sweden ! I will run Stage 3 with the same setup as you have when I get my IC installed.

Or maybe we will have autotuning then

Keep up the good work Vishnu!
