'07 320d shocks after cold start
Hello. I own a 2007 e90 320 diesel, and the problem that I have started just a few weeks ago, during cold mornings.
After I start the car, at idle, the engine does not run smoothly and it keeps making short but very strong shocks, as if somebody is shaking the whole car. I keep getting them for 3-5 minutes, and once the engine gets warm, they disappear completely. I took the car to the BMW dealer, put it on a tester and they said that nothing's wrong with it, no faulty injectors or incandescent plugs. However, there must be something wrong and honestly I'm afraid to drive it like this, as those shocks could mean something rather serious. Any ideas? Thanks. 2007, 320d, 44000km Last edited by mik821; 12-15-2009 at 10:58 AM.. |

Got to love the situations when you come to service and can't get the error to repeat itself to them. Love that! Anyway, don't think this helps you in any way.
But if they checked it and couldn't find an issue, it could be some minor problem causing it. Depending on how much time they've spent checking it. Good luck |

Are you sure they checked it while cold, in the morning? I'd arrange to leave it overnight with them, as long as they agree to hook it up to the monitor before they leave, then start it first thing in the a.m. If they won't hook it up before they leave, they'll have to drive it into a bay and warm the engine before testing.
Best regards, Wede |
