one of the major difference i found is the updated Navigation System....i think the functionality of the '09 Nav is a lot better the the '08

For 09 335's, shadowline trim part of sports package. 08 335's all have chrome trim.

To answer the thread title:

the 2009 should be 3 replacement HPFPs behind the 2008.

The nav is a a bit cooler in 09, but not by a long shot. Some people on the 6 series forum were trading their cars in just to get the new nav. Too bad it's completely restructured and you can't just pop in a different DVD.

Well I had a 1 series loaner with the new i drive nav, it's definitely more upgraded, but even after the first day I was done messing around with it. The map when zoned out appeared more like a google images / earth view. It's not like you play around on the i drive much anyway shortly after owning the car, so I'm happy with my 08 even if it's not as advanced as the 09.

It's just stupid the 2008 i drive can't show the map on full screen, you have to split screen and have two of the same maps (one 75% of the screen, another 25% of the screen), or something else displaying on the smaller 25% end. Though BMW is known to make dumb subtractions to newer generation cars in their first production years, then magically "upgrade", more like re-upgrade the cars again for the 4th,5th, and 6th production years. Seriously though, why the hell you gonna make a GPS screen, and not allow the map to appear on the full screen?

What the hell am I going to do by looking at two of the same maps side by side on my GPS? Both maps have to be at the same zone in, one can't be 1/4 mile and the other 400ft for example. It's because of the little things like I am not buying a BMW again after this 335i is done.
